Thank you, Obviousman.

edit:
Just found out that 1) the ticketmaster page is also available in English and 2) I already registered - bought my Tilburg from them either.

web site (ticketmaster) says:

Kategorie
- Best beschikbaar
- Rang 1 (Excl. Servicekosten)
(to be chosen by drop down menue)

What does that mean? Two different categories of tickets? Anyone who speaks dutch out there?

Any recommendations for a cheap hotel in the city with parking facility?
The Melkweg Max is one a big space, no different levels or tix categories, the ticketmaster website it is not clear about that. it's getting there, and get in front, but there is some sort of a balcony but you cannot purchase tix for that.

Remember when you're getting there, before you enter, you have to buy a membershipcard a 3 euro, you can buy those in advance at the door ( open from1600-1800 and from 1930 onwards). Saves you a lot of time.

I'll look into some cheapo hotels, let you know.

For the homeless:

Hostels:

Hotels

There are several parkingplaces in the center of Amsterdam, but parking is quite expensive. The other thing you can do is park your car a bit out of the city center (cheaper and in some areas free) and hop on a tram. Public transport is fine.

Make sure you book in time, as Queensday is coming closer, most hotels will be fully booked.

If you need more help, PM me, for this info is not really related to the Sisters 2006 tour.

Jet2 flights out of Leeds booked and now Melkweg tickets purchased (bit steep at 81 Euros for two) but hey where better to see Sisters than Amsterdam :D :urff:

Welcome to all the newbies on this thread! :notworthy:

There will be a meet up of the HL crowd probably starting in the afternoon around the area Leidsplein. Closer to the time more details will be confirmed as to time and where.

Thanks for the offer.

I just booked my hotel in Weesp anyway. Seems to be impossible to find a hotel in Amsterdam
1) from April 29th to May 1st
2) price under 60 EUR / room
3) parking facility around...

A hotel in Amsterdam Mhoehahahahahha that's impossible and sooooooooooo f**king expensive it would be cheaper to travel by plane and see the gig than rent a room there with parking !

Weesp is acceptible

But rememer on Queensday there are many flee-market's and there are sooooooooooooooo many people going out to Amsterdam, so If you're going by car, park outside Amsterdam and take the public transport form there !!!

As long as you're not expecting breakfast or anything, and you're up for making a weekend of it, I can recommend Hotel the Crown:

Chris Williamson
Directing Manager
Hotel The Crown
O.Z. Voorburgwal 21
1012 EH Amsterdam
Netherlands

phone: (+31) 20.626.9664
fax : (+31) 20.420.6473
email: info@hotelthecrown.com
web : www.hotelthecrown.com

40 Euros a night per person and right in the heart of the old city.

But it is a minimum 3 night stay when booking between Apr 28 - 30.

Flyglobespan have cheap flights out of Glasgow - as long as you don't mind a 5 am check in.

I booked this one:

Het Hart van Weesp
Herengracht 35
Weesp
http://www.hartvanweesp.nl/

Rates incl. breakfast:
Single room € 52,-
Double room € 85,-
Room for three € 118,-
Room for four € 150,-

I'd have no problem with flying but the flight connections from Northern Germany to Schiphol over the holidays are not the very best. The hotel seems to be close to the railway station of Weesp. So driving to Holland, leaving the car in Weesp and going to Amsterdam by Train seems to be the best choice. I just hope that the train connections at night are not as bad as in most German cities...

When travel with N.S. (Dutch rail road) you will never be on time !!! so count at least 1 hour extra with the travel ! and at night is desperate !!! Last gig in the 013 Tilburg, I did not even had a train that was traveling to where I needed, My ex GF had to pick me up, becouse I would have been stuck in Utrecht. make sure you have a plan B But on queens day traveling to Amsterdam is horrible !

Some hotels have cheap rooms available in that period.
And as said, wouldn't trust the NS at night..

That hotel is smack bang in the middle of the red light district. Perfect.

Or The Stablemaster (not that I know about such things - I've just walked past....) :innocent:

(And I think Der Kochring is a nightclub.)
I'll stop now.

s**t. Either I'm too stupid (which probably is the case), or there's something wrong with the ticketmaster.nl website.
I've just created an account, but I can't log in. It keeps saying: "This email does not exist".
Yet when I try to create a new account, it says:
"This email already exists in the database, please enter a new email or log in to your account with your normal password".
 :? :|
Has anybody had similar problems?
HELP! :notworthy:

The ticket order worked fine for me (after it took me 10 minutes to figure out that there was an account already existing on my name 'cause I have ordered my Tilburg ticket from them either....). Received my ticket today.
:-)

Tried the "PW forgotten?" function yet?

Regarding hotel: finding a hotel in the city of Amsterdam is not the problem. Problem is: where to leave the car? Almost impossible in the city - especially on Queens Day...

I'll arrive by train. Oh, and I have a question again: which train station is the closest to the gig? Thanks a lot in advance for the info.
And no, the login problem doesn't seem to solve, I think I'll just send them an e-mail.

With regards to the station it's "Amsterdam Central Station". From there you would either walk or take a tram to Leidseplein. I'll check the exact tram stop and then it's on your right arriving at the Leidseplein stop. A two minute walk from there.

Also those of you worried about the trains...the last train leaving Amsterdam Central Station is just after midnight, although their are several night buses that go in different directions on a frequent time basis.
