I will be in Hamburg exactly during the Easter (maybe that's why the flight tickets were cheaper
) but I don't think it will be a problem for me

16 days to my moment
will be welcoming them to London with much enthusiasm! don't have the money at the moment (being a student) to travel round europe with other HLers, but I hope they're still touring when I do!

I'm impressed
Best Sisters-Performance i've witnessed since Roskilde 1998 and Hamburg 1990. Best Vocal perfomance of Andrew I've ever heared.
Not a real setlist, but these songs were played:
Crash & Burn
Ribbons
Doctor Jeep / Detonation Boulevard
When You Don't See Me
Will I Dream
Flood I
Slept
Summer
Dominion / Mother Russia
Something Fast
Alice
Anaconda
Romeo Down
Flood II
This Corrosion
---
I Was Wrong
Lucretia My Reflection
---
Top Nite Out
Temple of Love
a fantastic evening, Gute Nacht!

totally agreed!
this was really the best performance i ever had the pleasure to experience! brilliant vsound, lotsa smoke, vons voice was in perfect shape and he was growling and howling throughout the show. he seemed to be in a very good mood and was pleasing the crowd with wearing a pauli t-shirt, pointing at it and and saying "ich kenn euch doch alle!" (i know you all) which resulted in the crowd chanting the name of the club. talking about the crowd: they were awesome too, singing through alice and this corrosion like there was no tommorrow. the only downer was the absence of vision thing which would have been appropriate for hamburg - but hey i can live with that
an extremely entertaining evening.
next week cologne.
see ya!
p.s. i think something fast and i was wrong were played in reverse order...

That is my kind of no-s**t review !
OK, here´s another one...
I went with three friends to the concert, one of them was a sisters fan, too and the others did even know some records. We nearly run to late, but finally we arrived in time just a few minutes before the intro starts. No traces of a support at all. We found our "crowd position" about five metres in front of the mixer. Usually there should be a good sound in this area.
The band startet with "crash and burn" (what a surprise) and the instrumentals kicks ass!! Ben and Robos guitars sounds more heavy and brings a lot of variations and solo parts, too. This is giving the titles some kind of refreshing. I heared some boots of the actual tour before and my expectations relating the instrumentals becomes totally satisfied.
Unfortunately Andrews voice was not in a good condition and sometimes it looks and sounds like he had some problems (holding his breast with a no-good face impression, stopping the vocals one time or dropping the cue at TOL). There where only a few moments, where his voice came out of the mix in a clearly way, like it should.
Myself visited the sisters three times (2001, 2003 and this time) and I never heard his voice in a weaker codition, like yesterday. I just hope, that this lack becomes affected by his broken ribs.
Although the crowd was in a good mood and during "alice" or "this corrosion", we all take care, that Von has no need to penetrate the mic. Not a lot small talk at all... like usual, but a funny "st. pauli" soccer-choral from the crowd, where Von becomes attired in.
Well, finally, two of my friends wouldnt come back to a sisters show.
I can emphatise that for somebody, who don´t know the lyrics at all and have no chance to understand, what the singer is trying to sing.
For me and my sisters-fan-friend, the refurbished intrumentals brings us a new experience and we are not really disappointed, so we could left the concert in a good mood.
Edit: Uhh... I forgot this little detail: The smoke was very well dosed!!!
...sorry for my bumby english, usually i only have to understand it
....

Welcome to HL,
DocSommer, and thanks for the review.
It seems that this long, long tour is taking its toll on the girls' condition indeed but somehow they still manage to deliver on a daily basis.
Edit : Welcome to
Fitzgig too !
I didn't notice it was your first post.

Thanks for the welcome. It's my pleasure too!
Maybe i'll give a longer review for the cologne gig - yesterday was a lot of alcohol involved after the concert, so...
see ya!

Do you think they´d have a chance to understand what the singer was trying to sing if they did hear the lyrics?
My review:
no string vest, no leather pants, some apparent voice problerms, and still I left the venue on shaky legs and with wet knickers.
Absolutely awesome gig it was.

There is still to mention that there was a new support for the Sisters: nobody else than Robochrist himself. Noisy, funny, entertaining.
Three words about the Sisters set:
awesome, awesome, awesome.
I also enjoyed the after show party pretty much.
And now I really need some sleep...
