are you not coming to norwich as well
Paul?
Or Leeds?
No, on both counts. Just London. Possibly Nottingham as well.

This’ll be my first time actually in London, and since none of my friends are into The Sisters, it’ll only be me going up.
Does anyone know exactly where The Astoria is and where the nearest hotel is?

can't help with hotels, but the Astoria is
here
will PM you with my mobile number - we should meet for drinks beforehand with the rest of the gang

Count me in for any pre-gig shennanigans..
I'll take a half day off work at the very least, or if funds allow a whole day off..

Right outside Tottenham Court Road station can(n't) miss it...
btw, what's the age restriction?

Probably not much help but according to the T&Cs on the Astoria/Mean Fiddler website:
* Events and ticket types where an age restriction applies are clearly indicated during the booking process. Please ensure that you read all the information that applies to the event/ticket you are booking, and carry proof of age if appropriate.

I would probably presume 18 as it is a licensed venue innit?
And its in Westminster, who are complete bastards with enforcing licensing laws...

OK, ignore that above post..
In the depths of the Mean Fiddler web site it says this about the Astoria..
"London Astoria & Mean Fiddler - Strictly No Under 14's, Under 16's only admitted if accompanied by an adult. 18’s and over only for club nights"]
So if you're under 16 then get someone to walk you in, but other than that its fine by the looks of things..

If you're talking about a hotel I don't think that subway is recommended by Lonely Planet yet
Are people going to be lurking in the George beforehand?!?

I'll have turned 18 about a week before the gig, so I won't have to worry about age restriction.

Is anyone driving from London to Leeds on May 3rd? If so I'd love to cadge a lift and would obviously be happy to pay petrol money.

I phoned the Astoria and asked them their policy on taking a camera into the Sisters gig - they said that so long as it wasn't "professional equipment" (I confirmed with them that normal digital cameras didn't count as "professional equipment" - they said "telephoto lenses, v. expensive video cameras etc were what they called "professional equipment") then it would be allowed in.

Are we anticipating a lot of long haired ginger attendees then?
btw, I wouldn't worry too much about the pub thing, all will be fine.
