My 80's musical "guilty secret" is a liking for Fish-era Marillion rather than Mr Marx's poptastic turn on the GD album. I'd ask the jury to take into account a 70's Merseyside upbringing drenched in Genesis, Floyd and red leb :p x
Are you kidding me, Jesters Tear is a f**king masterpiece. I play t regularly. Every track is absolute genius. Garden Party, Forgotten Son, He Knows You Know.
I feel no shame or guilt and i keep no secret. I wear my prog rock members badge with pride. Of course two years after Jesters came out everything changed, for the better, but I look back with fondness

Yup, Misplaced Childhood was the one for me, i've yet to explore the rest of their back catalog but Misplaced Childhood can bring me right back to the mid-80s any time.

I have four music related tattoos. On my right forearm I have The Mish and Head and Star logo's either side of the Slayer logo, on my left arm I have the original font Marillion logo.

Proggoth?
I can dig that, even though it sounds like a Belarusian stew. Probably better than proth though
I mean if you think about prog goth, a dark brooding cynical look at the world with 20 minute synth solos, that’s no true too far from some of the moments on Floodland or Gift

Never been a prog fan and think it's because my older brother constantly played Yes and ELP , his cd of Brain salad surgery mysteriously went missing and I only confessed a few years ago that i used it as a frisbee on the local park .

apart from the nice HR Geiger cover its a pile of old bollocks innit. Even with Cozy Powell (RIP) they were s**t.

It must be a three-letter thing. ELP and Yes.
Isn't Rick Wakeman a born-again christian these days?

I've seen Rick Wakeman interviewed on TV and he always tells good stories.
His music bores me rigid though.
The whole standing with your arms outstretched playing 2 keyboards at once while dressed like a wizard. *snooze*

Are you talking about Ravey Davey? He's not a Wizard, he's a Nurse.

Hi, new to here but long time Sisters fan. Was playing all my old vinyl at the weekend and it lead me to Gift. I see there seems to be a long planned CD re release but was it ever originally on CD. Would love a digital version. Seen a couple on ebay but not sure if they are real.
Thanks

Thanks for the welcome and the info. I did email Cadiz records about a reissue and their reply made me chuckle.... "Hi yes, still planned. Just waiting for Mr Eldritch to decide to actually get moving to do something"
