Great gig! Certainly the best I've ever heard them sound.
Anyone who says otherwise obviously wasn't there, sorry!

Some of the short reviews here make me believe it might have been the best Sisters gig to date with this line up! So...a perfect time to throw in a new song then maybe..?

Thought the London gig was pretty good. Loved the venue and perhaps the best London venue I've seen them.
No surprises in the set list, but the sound was excellent and the band were on top form. After the sonisphere appearance and now this performance I can see the band appearing on the radar of many more uk promotors.

Well I really enjoyed that and was pleased to see Chris actually looking like a 'Sister' and not like a knob.

And thanks so much to Isolator for this tip
- dumped the car safely - free parking - 10 mins walk to venue. Made life a lot easier!

Surprisingly good given the recent fiascos of London gigs..
The sh*thole, sorry Astoria one being the most obvious... (that might not be entirely their fault though, every single f----ing gig I saw in there was cr@p.. was glad to see it knocked down tbh..)
Was pleasantly surprised by the fullness of the venue and also the fact that they did actually seem to have stage presence for the size of the place..
Set list seem pretty normalish, lack of OTW/Teachers being a sad omission, but good to hear Rock and A Hard Place. Gift That Shines again though.. really was wanting to hear John I'm Only Dancing, but one can't have one's cake and expect to eat it..
Soundwise, definitely about 95% of the way there.. Ben seemed to be having a little bitt of trouble with his sound half way through and seemed a wee bit low in the mix, but that was definitely sorted by the end.
All in, 8.9/10, best London gig I've seen them in by far, good venue and definitely positive indications that they are back on par.
(As for the naysayers, it's 2011, not 1985, 26 years is a long time ago...)
With this amount of energy, surely the f--- they should get some kind of recording out, I mean if they can still sell out a venue like the roundhouse and put on that kind of show...

A gorgeous gig ...
... Eldritch back to 90% command of his capacities ...
...
and also proving great humour in vocally playing the balls precisely to the measure ... can't tell how much I've loved and enjoyed that ...
almost incredible how he managed to get there from two years ago ... and with a vocal strength now like '98 ...
...
waahh ... how I'm looking forward to him regaining his entire excellence ... *surrender and faint in dreaming (please, do not disturb) ...
...
The band was in great from, the audience completely going nuts as one was used to in the 90ies ...
...
For some parts, the sound in the front rows was loud and clear enough, though not as powerful and precise as usual,
while from a few rows back it was nothing but what it should be ... later on in the gig it all got perfect ...
...
Can' t tell how glad I feel I've managed to have been there ...
Pretty patches and pins in the merchandise as well ... still no stickers for my car, though, but hell ...
...

A brilliant gig. Certainly no complaints about the volume this time. As far as the set-list goes I was really happy with it but then this was my first Sisters gig since 2009. I particularly enjoyed Crash and Burn, Never Land and Lucretia. It was nice to hear updated versions of the earlier songs too.

Forgot to mention that the funniest thing of the night (and probably of any gig I've ever been to) was the moshing Sooty hand puppet that rose majestically into the air in mid set, doing little dances and throwing it's arms outstretched, mimicing the blokes on shoulders at the front.
Me and my mate were standing about 10 yards in front of the mixing desk, dead centre, and the bloke with the puppet was in line with us, maybe 10-15 feet from the front.
Next time the girls come to town, we're gonna bring Sooties mates and do a puppet pyramid, it'll be the most surreal thing ever seen at a Sisters gig!! :^)

Looks good, but I simply hate when people profit on the work of someone else, no way I'm gonna support that.

jparton wrote:Sorry I'm sure I'll be destroyed, but if that qualifies as a "good" gig then the girls are in worse shape than I thought. (I'm typing this on my phone on the way home)
As I mentioned on another thread I would happily pay Andy to see tonights gig despite how bad the last time I saw them was, BUT once they butchered Marian then, sorry I'm checking out. In my head the Sisters will be forever frozen in April '85 and I'm happy to live in that delisonial world.
To each his own, but I'd rather have the Sisters than Fields of the Nephilim, who still try to recreate a magic that is long lost (and fail more often than not).
1985 is gone forever. Deal with it.
Anyway, thanks for the nice reviews.
Brilliant!!

Logic was played between Summer & Rock and a Hard Place.
Gift That Shines sounds better with its accoustic guitar part.
They played 5 off each album - thats a pretty good hit rate for the average fan.
I remember why I gave up smoking

Why the tears?
It's pretty sad when Logic it's dropped off, i mean, i can see the sisters only when they come to Brazil(a 2 year cycle), and basically, they always drop off Logic before arrive here lol (Or other special songs).
2006 - Burn, Valentine dropped
2009 - Logic Dropped
2012 - (They will drop NTTC and logic, just because i don't have enough lucky)
Btw, thanks for the update, glad to see logic being played one more time
Cheers!
