Abominations of Yondo – That Remote and Awful Twilight
I'm rather happy with this new discovery.
More info.
Warren Ellis (the writer not the musician) wrote:“If you like spooky ambient atmospherics and strange soundscapes, you’re going to want to give this a listen… I’ve been fascinated by this for a day or so, now. You can almost imagine it as the best possible soundtrack to the best possible adaptation of The Time Machine, but it does definitely go its own way, and it’s frequently just lovely.

Very, very good--filthy rock-infected crust-blues from Texas. Lots of stomp and slide and growl. The cover was done by Javi Garcia, of Javi Garcia and the Cold Cold Ground (another great Texas band).

Less orchestration, less crooning... I was a bit dissapointed at first listen, but after several more spins the psychedelia & heavier guitars do their job pretty fine too.
