Go for it if you can, Marco. It's a great show and well worth seeing.psichonaut wrote:I heard he will play in Bologna the 31st of december
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

That was awesome. Full report tomorrow, but for tonight, the band recorded it & are releasing it in a few weeks time.

Next for me: The Black Angels, here in my place. Purple Weekend 2013.
Talk to them, talk to someone,
Talk to me, or
Paint it on a wall,
But never stay in silence,
As silence kills.

Yeah, I'm very excited about them!.. sure it's gonna be an interesting gig. (Night Beats will be the opening band, which still don't know if it's a good or a bad thing for me though… Anyway I'll figure it out in 8 days!)Hom_Corleone wrote:Love The Black Angels!RibbonGirl wrote:Next for me: The Black Angels, here in my place. WTF
It might just have been the best festival experience I've ever had...
The 3 days were grand, but the Loop curated Saturday was just mindblowing!
Loop, Hookworms, Dirty Beaches, The KVB and The Pop Group made it an insane day. A nice long walk by the sea in the early afternoon and our more than happy bunch of nutters let it even rise above the already immense expectations I had of the festival. Over the moon!
Next up: Death In June on the 12th...

So how were Loop? Everything you expected?
I imagine Hookworms were a spectacle if they were anything like they were in Liverpool.
I'm going to Amsterdam on Thursday. Yippee!

One of our bunch had to go to work on Monday so we decided the stick with each other and all leave on the Sunday night after the last gig (a very good Mogwai!) and take the nightboat back home... No sleep, just a long drive and a handful of cappucino's to go with that
Today I'm slightly beginning to get back on the ground.
Loop were amazing! Everything I wanted and more. Almost as much smoke as with The Sisters
They really curated a perfect line up for me with lots of dark stuff, but always energetic, original and utterly bastard groovy bands. Hookworms were on fire and just exploded on that stage. Just like The Pop Group. Probably the band I wanted to see the most and they did not dissapoint at all! The fella who did their live sound should have a go at the Sisters sound when he's got some time on his hands... Industrial, dubbed out psychedelia now that should suit Andrew's songs perfectly
The hangover I nursed on Sunday was as big as you might expect
A'dam you say? Sweet! For a gig or just for fun?

Jealous now!
Looking forward to seeing Loop on their upcoming dates anyway!
Amsterdam - Just for fun. Although I did check if there was anything good on and the answer was TRAVIS.

I'm still waiting for the dates for next year.
I can't off hand think of a band I'd rather see less than TRAVIS to be honest.

I'm going to the m*****n nephs gig at Brixton. Anyone else going? Any particular pub folk fancy meeting up in. I'm from the provinces (Aldbrickham).
I remember a Wetherspoons filled with enthusiastic dominoes players. So, anyone fancy a game of dominoes on Wednesday 18th?

Maybe seeing John Waters on Thursday. Fingers crossed.
Like pushing a marsmallow into a piggy bank
due to unexpected money income yesterday I went to see: The Thaw (PL, black metal with a bit of noise and post-rock)- really good, i enjoyed it, relaxed, but because they were support for star of the evening they played only about 30 minutes; star of the evening was Correction House (including Scott Kelly ex-Neurosis, Mike IX Williams ex- Eyehategod, Bruce Lamont ex- Yakuza, Sanford Parker ex- Minsk)- it wasn't bad, lot more better and powerful than on album, it very nice physical experience- due to small venue and loudness i felt sonic impact on my body, made not only by bass that really cut though my body. texture was nice, they mixed industrial, drone, doom and bit noise and post-rock, but i wasn't impressed that much as most of people, probably that i'm on different music plant now.
