I fear kids today (in the UK, anyway) are getting into football for The Wrong Reasons (rich, famous "celebrity" status) and not the Grimsby-midweek-away-in-winter reason.

I always say I can trace the moment the Chelsea attitude to football changed. Twas a Wednesday night league cup match at Grimsby and Frank Sinclair (as far as I remember) manged to make a hash of a 6 yard pass to our Ruud. The intensity of the glare from Ruudi reached Holland for sure! I thought bloody hell we're going to win things!

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm sure they used to at least get summer out of the way before the football started up again.
