back to work. although that means there's an excuse to do no housework for the remaining 'holiday'.

my mother broke both her hands today and she'll have the operation on Monday. I'll wait to see how Monday goes and then try to book some flights to go see her.

Monday will be lovely. My Catnip's bday, he's turning 40, my mother's surgery, I have an accreditation director flying in to meet me, I have an important meeting with the dean and half an hour later an interview concerning my possibly 'future' univ to discuss my research interest for my doctoral.

the rest of the week is not looking good either:(

A man after my own heart.

Or liver.

IMO it's when you start behaving sensibly that you start getting old

Liver, second-hand, one careless owner? 8)

No fear, I'll never let common sense get in the way. I certainly haven't yet!

Still a little gloomy over the boy, but whatever. I'll get over it.

Spending my last day in town with a high school friend tomorrow, hoping it'll make me feel better. After that, it's pack-up time, which is more an annoyance than anything.

On my way into work this morning I saw a bloke who had been knocked off his bicycle. (I didn't stop to help because the police arrived moments before I went past; I assume they had the situation under control.)

Someone who obviously knew what they were doing had immobilised his head (spinal injury precaution) but the poor guy was covered in blood. It didn't look good.

I'm going to check with the police later today to see if they'll tell me whether he's OK. :urff:
