Oh god. I'm going to see them on Saturday. I keep getting a churning stomach feeling that it's going to be
so bad.

btw pista, is there a particular mp3 rip of 'in orange' that's considered the best?
i found a t***ent of one called something like "in orange dvd and cd" that i'm currently downloading but don't know what the quality is like...
i'm primarily interested in the audio at the mo as i already have a japanese 2 x VCD of 'in orange'. however, if that one i'm grabbing as i type this is better than that it will be a nice bonus

That one's really crisp (it's not an mp3 AFAIK though).
Only one gripe with it.
Whoever ripped it faded every single track in & out.
Alright if you're just doing odd tracks, but if you want to listen to the whole show, annoying as fcuk.
I'd recommend you do a straight rip of the DVD & not tinker with any of the tracks

aha, Cure talk
Well, last night's gig at Werchter Festival was yet again brilliant. They are on a roll this summer and I'm very happy to have seen 2 gigs. Only gripe was that they had a rather short slot yesterday and played just under 2 hours, only 2 encores (Friday & Boys) and that just feels weird
Top band, and I'm very much looking forward to the deluxe verson of Wish
and the next one...
pictures of you
ps: I think I have a rather good version of Orange on 2cd's. Got it from Psichonaut/Marko I believe. Will dig them up later and play 'm in the car to Werchter this afternoon to see Mastodon, Bat For Lashes, Pearl Jam & Lana Del Rey (oh Yesss!). If it's good I'm happy to burn you some discs and post m to Manchester...

It was short wasn't it?
After Barcelona & Moscow clipping the 3 hour mark, the last 3 shows have been very short indeed.
I had the live stream on & they were really on form again though.
Reeves is a breath of fresh air at the moment.
CLT the bloke sat next to me wittering on the phone. He appears to be on it all day & every day & it's my bloody phone!

Short, but I expected even less as it was announced as a 1h30 gig. Festival policy
Still, The Cure need to play massice encore rounds. At least 2, not 2 songs
And yup, Reeves is a very welcome guest. I love his fixings here and there. Roger is also doing a great job

To be fair, they were far better than I expected. there were, inevitably, parts of their set that were a bit mushy but overall they sounded fresh and tight. Brown's voice even sounded clear.
I caught 10 minutes of The Wailers, who were excellent and even Beady Eye sounded pretty good.
This rose tinted view of the whole event could be down to the beer of course. Or the drugs.
