H.P Lovecraft="The Call of Cthulhu, and other stories".
It inspired me to invent another drinking game (if I still drank, I suppose. My first was the "Deadwood Drinking Game" in which you took a belt of Jack Daniels every time someone said "cocksucker".). Take a shot every time you read the words: gibbous, squamous, eldritch, Elder, blasphemous, or indescribable. Then at the end of any story try and do the "Pheasant Plucker" rhyme. Apart from "The Dream Quest" it's almost impossible.

I've been reading...
...again.
This time I intend to work my way through the whole series (or at least the parts of it that Frank Herbert himself wrote; I really can't be arsed with the prequels, sequels, interquels, etc. that have been written since).

I did that last year. Got to the end of the fourth book and called it a day.
Currently reading:
Angelmaker, by Nick Harkaway. Good so far.
Prior to that I read the 5 books in Alistair Reynolds'
Revelation Space series. I don't normally read Space Opera, but they were quite good.
