The Latest solo album by that guitarist, which was released in autumn last year. Sounds not too bad, IMO

If you like your shoegaze, then this lot are ones to watch.
Think Cocteaus meet MBV & decide to channel Lush & you're not a million miles away.

A recent rediscovery.
Rumour has it that, other the snippets from the interview B-sides, the only member of Frankie actually to be heard on the record is Holly Johnson; the instruments were all recorded by session musicians or Trevor Horn himself.

Glad somebody else likes it.
I seem to remember those rumours going round when it came out.
I like to believe Ped, Gnasher and Mark did play the instruments.
A bit like The Beatles with help from Trevor Horn instead of George Martin.

Apparently Peel Sessions exist (of at least Relax, Two Tribes and The Power of Love) from before Horn got his hands on them, proving that the songs at least are the band's, if not the performances.

I have a couple of Frankie live and also Frankie JP sessions. 2 tribes, as posted, is the only song of real note in the sessions
i have all the 12", they were essential listening - even dabbled with the first solo album - love train ..
once again, i blame a heady mix of drugs and depression (on my part, not his)

Everyone always thinks the T-shirts were "Frankie Says Relax" but the genuine ones were "Frankie Say Relax".

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Cheapo punk compilation for the drive home from work. Amazing how fragmented the scene had become by the time DD was recorded. Art school punks (Wire, XTC), old pub rockers (Stranglers), working class punks doing singalong anthems for the kids (Angelic Upstarts, Cockney Rejects, Sham 69), power pop love songs with a twist (Buzzcocks, Undertones), tribal drumming (Bow Wow a Wow, Ants), poets from the suburbs (Jam, Members).
