Worst Sisters songs.

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

and another thing...post the first single --> FALAA imo there is not a bad Sisters song. Guess it's just me, but 20 years after hearing them for the first time, they are still one of two groups.

1. The Sisters
2. Every other band I've ever listened to.

Anything would sound okay under those circumstances- though to my mind YCBtO would sound bestest..

wailing harpy part 2 huh?

I totally concur though -- unimaginative and boring mainstream crap.

And apart from 'summer' and 'C&B', the rest of the "new" mumbojumbo isn't that great either.

Welcome to HL by the way, fbxymox. Do you occasionally get pished and destroy? Do tell us all about it in the general chat section. ;D

And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

"Ozymandius".

Hard to get, and harder to listen to.

I don't reckon you're actually expected to sit through 'Ozymandias' ... I think it's probably more of a conceptual pun ... although I don't get it either. Would probably make sense if you knew who was being cast in the role

http://www.culturelle.ca/poemershome/ozymandias.html

... and could figure out the significance of Dominion in reverse.

That aside, while some of the slightly less immediately listenable earlier tracks are a bit more challenging ... it's worth sticking with them.

I don't know the more recent/post Vision Thing stuff so well ... but I don't think there's anything even there that wouldn't still be better than sitting through 'Texas' by James Ray Gangwar (runs for cover!).

Korrosiv's live-only song "Ozymandias" is far better.. actually uses the poem, dub drums, sirens, saws and hammers.. ;)

And yes, you'd better run. Not the best Performance track, but still damn good. 8)

Nah, more like half of us will want to have your babies and the other half will hunt you down with dogs. ;D
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Thought I'd posted here already but apparently not.

Well, unless we're counting SSV, it has to be Home Of The Hitmen. I mean, why?

Black Planet, because I always end up skipping it to listen to the rest of FALAA. Black Planet just doesn't have momentum, maybe if it was faster, or heavier. It really bothers me actually that I can't quite place why this song sucks so much? All the rest of the album is amazing.

I was actually trying to work out yesterday why I've always skipped "Possession" when playing FALAA. I think it's the intro. I'm a sucker for a good intro and the intro to "Possession" is rubbish. Once you get past that, the song itself isn't as bad as I've always convinced myself it is.

(Does this make any sense at all? Day off work today. I've been putting it to good use by drinking myself stupid)
