I have found that this game is more than sufficient when you consider "taking over your life" possibilities

Hmm, mostly action and adventure I believe.
I like the Tom Clancy games and have just started playing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Oh, grief, that's a life-pit. Once you get a feel for it and used to the hows and wheres you'll find a whole world of "I'll just do this next...."

[sad]
Go to the north and climb the mountains until you get right up in the snow. You'll find a long rope bridge strung between the two mountain peaks. It's quite a thing.

I'm currently (well, you know, before typing this) playing.....

The Halo3 beta

On the first game I was underwhelmed, as it looked like Halo 2.1 but the more you play then the more you notice the extra little details.

I saw somebody leap into a Mongoose and hurtle out of a compound, smashing through some gates - behind them all the leaves etc on the floor swirled into the air. Also look out for players in dark areas - little lights on their suit and visor turn on.

Also, wait until you see somebody wading into the sea to mess around and drop them.....and the body will get washed back up to the shore by the tide!!

Personal favourite combination of weapons is a dual-wield of a pair of Spikers - a great rate of short range fire with a ruddy great T-rex like claw on the end of each. Run at somebody all guns blazing then drop them at the last second. Such fun

Can you still get dual Needlers?

I've never played 'video games' or whatever you call them. Well tell a lie, I played Grand Theft Auto about 5 christmasses ago at which my 12 year old nephew beat me.....apparently,... I wouldn't know, but I definitely believed him. it was his game.

I just don't get it

I used to be quite good at pinball when I was a kid and used to trainspot on Reading Station. We'd hang out in the buffet being really...well probably annoying. Actually there was a space invaders there as well. But I wasn't very good at that either ...that was probabaly about 1977 /78.

Is pc / VIDEO gaming an age thing do you reckon?

I am listening to 'If looks could kill' by Heart though!

I had a Needler tonight so yeah, I guess there may be other around the place - great from distance but it can take a while to fill somebody enough for them to go off.

There's a great new grenade that will stick to surfaces and when it detonates you get a directed explosion of shrapnel - great for ceilings and the end of corridors  :innocent:

No, I wouldn't say so.

I do think, however, age can affect what sorts of games you might want to play....but even then not for everybody.

Like I often say to people that tell me they "don't like videogames":-

"What you mean is that you've not played the one you might like yet" ;D

I would have to say you may be right , but that almost sounds like a threat!

Com'n sonny I 've got something here your'e gonna like!

Before I knew where I was my hands were shaking if I didn't get near a console within 30 mins of waking up.

Mind you I wouldn't mind learning how to fly a ME 109............

Exactly my point - a game flying a plane from point to point, a first person shooter and an online card-game are all completely different but all videogames of sorts.

One day when I have more time.............

Has Jon Snow got proper breathable walking socks?

Also do you know how to upload a video onto youtube if you have it 'on disc'? not on your hard drive...........it's not commercially available , just one that's been transferred from VHS?

I *heart* pinball machines. :notworthy: I'm useless at videogames, except for Animal Crossing... ;)

ETA: ...but I don't mind watching other people play, especially if they've got some nice horrorshow title going - see Resident Evil, Silent Hill, etc. \m/
