Finland Eurovision Entry!!!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I'm glad Lordi won, though me old mam was genuinely deeply disturbed by them, to the extent of leaving the room and going to watch the Prince Charles thing on ITV (with her being about as much of a royalist as our very own Lee).

I must say though, the Lithuanian entry was my favourite. Those guys looked like they'd just come from a conference about predicted growth rates in the tupperware industry :notworthy:  .

Best Eurovision contest ever !!! :notworthy:

Trouble is there'll probably be Lordi lookalikes next year, and it won't be fun anymore. :urff:

Wooooof!

Just back from a travel back to my parent's place to watch it with them, and see their reaction.

The general consensus was "YES", pure entertainment won the day.

Plus, 12 of us won a grand down the bookies on them. Which is always nice. :D :D :D :D

Now I gotta find a new avatar...
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

However, as somebody said before, the drummer had a snout. So, they deserved to win whatever. :D

If I were God, I'd be bothered by Lordi! ;)

Now don't be silly James, I think Finland (apart from maybe its immediate Baltic neighbours) is about the least Christian country in Europe. I could be wrong, but wasn't it the last country in Europe to get rid of their barbaric pagan ways?

Anyways, the Finns raison d'etre is :

*eating cholesterol-lowering spreads,
*shagging reindeers,
*listening to devil-music,
*mobile phones,
*and then killing themselves.

[/national stereotyping]

It's a long time since I read Leviticus for a larf, but I have a feeling all of those are prohibited somewhere or other within the Bible :innocent: .

Hmm, would probably add eating the most horrendous sausage and donut based combinations, and drinking the rest of Europe under the table to that list..

I talk from considerable experience...
