Martin wrote:The FLAC ain't easy to use "as is" on Mac. A very few softwares can handle them. I tried three different ways to burn a DVD Audio, first with Toast, then iDVD, then a freeware. This last one created without problems an ISO image disc my DVD player couldn't read.
I converted the FLAC to AIFF . And I'll switch to DVD Studio Pro.
if there are any problms with flac files on a mac, PM me or something else..

There's no problem except the rarity of the softwares able to handle it. The encoding is nice.
I'm listening regularly to the DVD test I made with the files converted to AIFF (linear PCM if you prefer) and it's sounds great! The sound is worst in the first 3 minutes, at the beginning, during "Crash and Burn". After that, it's definitively the best of the few bootlegs I grabbed here and there.
Tx again
…and how was it recorded?

I use MacFlac and it is really easy to convert the files in aiff or wav ...

I use xACT for Mac and have never had any problems from FLAC to AIFF.
(AIFF to FLAC can be a bit flaky though, but only when I've processed the AIFFS between ripping and FLACing. So maybe it's something I'm doing wrong
)

I dragged the FLAC files into toast, set the space betwix tracks to 0sec, and burned away.... no issues (my source was the 6 rar files listed above)

Roxio Toast 7 handles FLAC files without pre-converting to AIFF or WAV.
Cog will also play them without first converting them.

xACT is the ticket for conversion.

Yeah, I know. But it makes me a DVD my desktop player can't read. Is it DVD-Audio?

are you burning to DVD or CD?
i don't think Toast 7 can author DVD-Audio, can it?

To DVD precisely, that's why I ask.
With Toast 7.0.1, I can't burn a "CD-Audio" on a DVD, but I can make a "Musical DVD" and choose Dolby Digital or PCM for encoding. I can associate a picture for each track too.
I'll make some more test but I think my desktop player simply can't read them. I didn't even try with my SuperDrive.

i.e.: I don't know yet what makes a DVD a DVD-Audio.

So, um.... anyone have any actual audio or video from the last few shows?
It seems we've hit a serious dry spell since Jenzi posted those glorious sound files from Anaheim...

Well, if "whole" means "without
Crash and Burn".
(No, the face does not mean that I have the first track, let alone the rest of the gig.)

I thought "whole" as in "more than three MP3 tracks".
AFAIK there's already two people
trading what I think
is the whole show.

Curious if anyone at all managed to grab a boot of Crash & Burn from the Paris gig to help round out this otherwise superior recording. Surly there wasn't just one recording made of this show...any word on this missing track?
