Fuckin' hell, I used to be in a band that rehearsed right next door to them (in a filthy warehouse in a very bad neighborhood)! Nice guys.

Funny thing about The 69 Eyes. They had a pretty undistinguished career as a middling glam band, untill Ville Valo and HIM became widely known. Then all of a sudden, they are the "Helsinki vampires" and are singing songs about Brandon Lee..their lead singer, is an utter tool. I'm supposed to be impressed when I hear he always wears shades, even though the man is as blind as a bat?? Ok..

I saw the 69 eyes once. They were alright when they stuck to playing stuff from "Blessed be",but sounded like Def leppard most of the time.
They introduced themselves with the immortal lines "Hello ve are ze shixty nine eyesh,Ve're from Helshinki,ze sh'itty of vampiresh". The word "nobheads" came into my head for some reason.
After they finished the support slot to the very dreadful indeed Wednesday 13 (I'd taken my teenage darkling daughter, honest gov),the singer wandered around pretending to be Von and being ignored by all the spotty herberts.I felt sorry for him and got my daughter to ask for his autograph,He seemed very grateful and asked me if I knew Ozzy Osbourne(Obviously I do as Birmingham is only a very small village and we all know each other and are interbred).

I find it rather hard to imagine vampires being rampant in a rather tame Scandinavian capital where everything closes at nine..still, if you want horror, try taking a tram or bus from Helsinki on a Wednesday or Friday. Drunk Finn vomit-a-thon..

Sounds like a pill to me.

I liked them, but thats only because I liked "I don't wanna be me" by type o negative. There really is nothing origonal in there sound, but they are catchy enough...not everyone can be origonal.
