I'll be scared if anyone gets that...

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

Yup. But far more entertaining in his role as Gareth Keenan.SINsister wrote:Isn't that guy in Pirates of the Caribbean?

Eldritch´s past lyrics have been steeped in Christian iconography, especially the whole idea of The Sisterhood project. Does anyone know what religion his childhood is rooted in?
All my life I've wanted to be someone; I guess I should have been more specific.

I would guess (from the Adrenochrome lyrics) that he was brought up a Catholic. But it's just a guess.E Gypsy wrote:Eldritch´s past lyrics have been steeped in Christian iconography, especially the whole idea of The Sisterhood project. Does anyone know what religion his childhood is rooted in?
The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

Thank you. I thought something was going on in the Catholic sense.markfiend wrote:I would guess (from the Adrenochrome lyrics) that he was brought up a Catholic. If he wasn't brought up a Catholic, then I'd imagine he was very "high church" Church of England.
Of course, from what I understand from interviews and so forth, I don't think he's a believer these days.

Well if you're suggesting that religion is a drug then I did cold turkey many years ago.E Gypsy wrote:As William Burroughs said´.......´Once a junky always a junky´.markfiend wrote:If he wasn't brought up a Catholic, then I'd imagine he was very "high church" Church of England.

Commited aethiest although I have slightly more tolerance for other peoples beliefs than some would say that their beliefs accord my position but I'm nice like that.
Actually I'm not but I like to occasionally pretend that I'm not callous just to see how it feels.
Something pithy.

Religious?
Definately not. I stear clear of all that organised stuff.
Anybody willing to believe in a book (the bible/Koran or anything for that matter) that was written, and then re-written again and again throughout history by a man and then expects you to worship an invisible entity really should have their head examined.
There's only one person you should believe in - that's yourself.

nah, go on, say what you're really thinking

Welcome to the 21st Century.SINsister wrote:I don't really believe in much of anything. I'm an atheist, but I adore the "trappings" of religion. Walked around quite a few lovely medieval churches whilst on my holibobs, and even lit a candle in my mom's memory in "Shakespeare's Church" (Holy Trinity) in Stratford-Upon-Avon last week... *Shrug*
I'm off to http://www.venetian.com/ in Macau; I hear it's beautiful
