Danke sehr.
That's my friend you are talking to, pick on him and you have me to answer to.
He's my bro, - even if we don't see eye to eye on Siouxie (and Marillion ;)) - so me too... ;)

Ahráyeph wrote:Well, I just finished watching Jools and I have to say, Siouxie came off cracking! Wish I had recorded that, but they'll rerun it later in the season, I guess. She finished off with a great version of 'Spellbound'. And I liked the new tracks as well. Nnnnnnice!
I thought she was quite out of tune, I wanted to wind her up a bit so she could hit the high notes - sorry :|

Oh puh-leaze girls, give it a rest. :P The lot of you.

I'm somewhere in the middle on her appearance on Later last night. She looked fab and performed with class as always... having said that I do know what Libs means about being a leetle off-key.

Still love her to bits tho' :notworthy:

Yeah she did look fab though, I challenge anyone to be able to pull off that harlequin cat-suit!

Ok, she's 50 and she can hold her leg in the air, full credit to her. I didn't know she could do that.

She made a right dog's dinner of Spellbound though. She sounded awful & made it look like she was struggling to remember the song. The guitar sounded completely wrong too.
The two songs from her solo album sounded ok / average.

You don't think it's good that a 50 year old can do the splits?

I do, but I thought her band werte very excellent to

I agree. The guitar may have sounded 'completely wrong' to you, biggy; but I like to think of it as an updated sound. After all, I recognized the song immediately, so it couldn't have been that bad? I disagree on the new tunes as well, but then you can't argue about taste and colours...

And yes, she didn't go high enough on a couple of notes, but I attribute that to in ear monitoring, which takes getting used to, rather than Siouxie not being able to hit those notes. And anyone looking like that in a cat suit at 50 ánd doing a split? She's aged well, methinks...

Have to say I agree with Biggy re her voice at least.
It's been slowly losing range and power over the last ten years.
You don't notice so much at the shows where she still puts on a great performance. But the Seven year Itch Vid and the Festival Hall dvd show what the passing of time can do... if you don't look after it you lose it......
The new material is good though.

Mind you I saw Dio two years ago and he, in Concert at the grand old age of 60 something could still hack it........
Now we'll see what he's like with Heaven and Hell on Weds.

Is Jools Holland repeated this week anywhere on one of the myriad channels

I sadly didn't see or hear her on the Beeb, but she looks fabulous on that pic! Respect Sista! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

On those pics from Amsterdam she also looks stunning
Thanx for posting those, MyDominion :notworthy:
Good to hear you enjoyed the show.

Mmm, I'm generally of the opinion that her voice has just got better and better over the years. Certainly from the early 80's up until the Banshees split. Mind you that was over a decade ago...

I saw the Seven Year Itch dvd and thought she sounded awful :| , her solo stuff didn't really do it for me either to be honest, but I wouldn't mind if I could look like her when I'm her age
