Outrageous, I should not have given advance warning. My plan is to hobnob with the Glasgow branch of my current employers - hence the easy transport - and then reach Queen Street Station for half-five, to be collected by Her Dark Majesty!

Well I just hope the bastards don't refuse me admission this time  I need to feed the moggy first, so I should get there around 6. Do they serve food there?

We're relying on Timothy for documentation so we'll have to wait... he's just gone further north for a bit before he comes back down to so-called Civilization (otherwise known as The Fake North) in a few days time.

An absolutely toppermost time was had by all ;D It ended up just me, Tim and Andrew eating curry from the enticingly-named "Diarrhoea Palace" on the floor of Andrew's flat with his lovely moggy, chilling to Tabula Rasa by Einstuerzende Neubauten 8). That was after Tim being accosted by the hen party, James loudly insisting to an ex-army trumpet player in a bar that he "get bent", and me singing Abba very loudly....

Si was much missed, as was Padraig, who had to get off early. Nice to see you for a few minutes though! Let's not make it so long 'til the next time you lot :D

Weirdly, the dreams delivered by my alcohol-soaked brain featured most of the same protagonists ... now I'm not really sure what bits actually happened.

To set the record straight:

- Did we meet Martin Scorsese who wanted to cast us all in a film?
- Did Claire try to take photos of me in a park next to some chickens?
- Was a talking dog involved at any stage of the festivities?
- Was Tim really even more of a loudmouth gobshyte than I'd been led to believe?

I really need to know. :?

smis is just jealous because he cannot outgobshyte me!

Depending on whether I survive tonight, I'll upload my pitiful photo collection tomorrow.

In all seriousness, I was reminded once again how much I love this country, and specifically that city with all them drinking types in it. :notworthy:

To Jockos at Home and Away, Present and Absent...

Yes a great night out
indeed! We went to five pubs in total:

Solid Rock - too loud for talking
Babbity Bowsters - no seats inside and outside too cold cos the heaters were off :(
Some nice old fart pub across from Babbity's - warm and cheap(ish)
McChuill's - played OK music which was amusingly spoiled by the one man horn section
Retrospect - 80's bar where Timothy was traumatised by 40something housewives wearing bunny ears, but at least was open late and we didn't need to pay to get in, like we would have in Frankenstein's if they hadn't refused us admission!

And yes, the food at the Diarrhoea Palace was better than usual, even though I was too drunk to finish it. Sorry to have missed the Pats - I was unable to get away from work early unlike some  And sorry not to see Big Si or Andie. See you next time I hope.

I'm just glad I planned for the inevitable hangover and left today free for a very long sleep. Claire, if you really want to experience a hangover, try anything by Banrock Station. It even works on my sister, who's usually immune to hangovers.

Ah, it used to be Huggy Bears

That's no a bad pub crawl youze had 8) :notworthy:

McChuill's sadly, is a shadow of it's former self. You never took Timmy down the Saltmarket?

Apparently Babbity Bowster's chimney was on fire on Sunday (my mate showed me a picture he took on his mobile, his flat overlooks the beer garden were we were sitting!).

People should perhaps be warned that spontaneous combustion may occur in the wake of a MacHeartland Gathering...
