Vox wrote:If you want polyphonic Sisters ringtones on your poly-capable Nokia simply upload an existing Sisters midi via wap or email to your phone.

Most Nokia's have 4 channel poly, so you'll need to load the midi into a midi editor and select the 4 channels you want, drum, bass, guitar etc.

Save the new file making sure it's <12kb

go to http://www.tagtag.com which is a free wap hosting service

upload your midi, TagTag will give you a code

connect via wap on your Nokia to http://tagtag.com, enter the code and download the midi to your phone.

Easier still if you have email on your Nokia, just email the midi!

Get yourselves MP3 phones.

I have the same message alert as Scardwel ("INCOMING!") and the opening bars of ToL '92 as a ring-tone. */pose*

THE GREAT RINGTONE RACKET EXPOSED

I've just uploaded a midi of Black Planet to my own site at http://www.esatclear.ie/~mhiney/blackpl.mid - if you just browse to this URL on any web enabled phone, hey presto. Instant polyphonic ringtone.

Works on my Nokia 3510i, piece of utter piddle. No mess, no fuss, no fiddly signing up for stuff.

Niiiiiiice.

(I'm taking it down this eve, btw, before the Record Industry Nazis get on my ass, so grab it while you can...!)

Couldn't believe it. Just tried it to see what would happen, there ya go. And the amount that's charged for these things too, completely unreal.

(Your avatar's evil by the way...)

Oh, and could people please spread the word around. There's a nasty rip-off empire here that deserves a good toppling.

How about (for the intro):

2a1 4a1 4b1 4c1 4b1 4a1 4e2 4d2 4e2 4d2 4e2 4d2 4e2 4c2 2a1 4a1 4b1 4c2 4b14a1 4e2 2d2 2- 4c2 4g1 4b1 4g1

Can't be arsed to work out the tempo or the verse!

You have done a great job but... my dear Mrs. P told me the 4th note should be 4c2 and there's at least one note lacking from the end - what do you think about it? (I'm too stupid myself  )
Please don't get me wrong, I appreciate very much what you have offered :notworthy:

Yeah, you're right about the 4c2 thing!

There isn't a note missing on the end, because if you loop the whole thing it works ok.

Hehe, that wasn't me who was right - I'm a deaf idiot, y'know :innocent: - that was my dear wife who used to be a singer in a band once :)
About the missing note(s) - she didn't mean the very end but somewhere before the pause...
Thanks again, mate :notworthy:

I've got First and Last and Always for my ringtone. If I'm unlucky enough to be on a bus full of schoolkids, I've noticed if my phone goes off they stop gibbering and listen. One time, one retard ( ahem ...sorry schoolchild of approximately 15 years ) mimicked my phone. A girl at work spent about an hour humming F&L&A after hearing my phone go off a couple of times. Catchy tune :D

Actually, you're right again, I think I typed it wrong, hence the wrong note, let me try again:

2a1 4a1 4b1 4c2
4b1 4a1 4e2 4d2
4e2 4d2 4e2 4d2
4e2 4d2 4c2 2a1
4a1 4b1 4c2 4b1
4a1 4e2 2d2 2-
4c2 4g1 4b1 4g1

I think this is right now.
