He's using automobile imagery/metaphor again, so changing 'thing' to 'curve' is consistent with that. I think "curve" a lot better than "thing".
(Somewhat fed up with all these "things" over the years).
"Curve" implies a line and not an area, space or form.
More like a way or a move or a calculable line.
Changes the angle towards the whole rest of the text. And I like it.
Can imagine it a bit like Ribbons and Under the Gun , now.
If one can transform it into being ...

As far as I remember, it's about certain truths. Didn't agree with all of these truths, to be honest.
