Wow - this was my first Cult live experience and a really fantastic gig in a very special venue!
Great atmosphere in the audience, I loved the way the old songs were performed, and the sound was splendid.
By the way, there is one album by The Cult that came out sometime around the mid-nineties and was grunge-esque, but I liked it nevertheless and still do. Don't know its title, but it had a 3-horned sheep on it, and there's one song (not the best) on it called "Coming Down (in drug-tongue speaking)".
For the rest: They lost me after Love, but after this weekend they have my credits again for being a fantastic live band, even though Mr Astbury apparently has grown a beard that makes him look like my cousin...

But I LOVE Dead Kennedys and only recently managed to attend a show by
Jello Biafra And The Guatanamo School of Meidicine. Fantastic!
Lambs are only accepted when cut in pieces put in the oven for a while and then served with gravy and potatoes. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Went to see The Cult at The Tabenacle in Atlanta on Sunday night.
First of all the venue was perfect with capacity at 2600,a small main floor and two balconies and it was a sold out performance.
No support act and The Cult arrived at 9:20 and played until 11.
To see them perform one of my favorite albums was a blessing as it was in 85 I saw them at Rock City in Nottingham on the original Love tour.
They played the whole album and then a hits based set of Electric Ocean,Sun King and others and finished with a storming Love Removal Machine.
Classic stuff from one of the UK's premier bands of the last 25 years.....the only thing was,it looked as if Ian had been sampling Mrs Migginns finest offerings.
Highlights for me were Rain,Hollow Man,Black Angel and Dirty Little Rockstar.

I thought Mr Astbury was Canadian origianlly, then moved, in his early years to England? So His accent can't be that awful, I often wondered if he was faking an English accent... Of course I could be wrong and totally racking my brain over The Cult. unfortunaely i stopped listening to them after sonic temple and diddn't care for electric, also he seems to be a dick and in league with Mr H*****y, who treat Andrew lesser than the God that he is....yeah...

I haven't seen The Cult since they played Nottingham Royal Concert Hall in the mid 80's on the Electric tour (supported by Gaye Bykers On Acid) might be tempted by Rock City.

Dunno whether that's the case or not, (I suspect not, Astbury was ever one for self-mythologising) but as I recall, on the Dreamtime Live album, he's got a pretty broad Yorkshire accent.
