I'm so confused I'm not even certain I'm confused. :lol:

perhaps the reference is to perception? positive/negative space?

I'm reasonably certain that the bar only existed to stuff some text into. :lol:

I could of course be totally wrong, and I'll admit that I have zero authority for that comment, but what the hey?

i'm with mh on this one - i reckin its an artifice, introduced to balance the design out, fill a bit of space and create something to write in :lol:

No, it reminds me of a landmark - on the single as to who determines the rules ... :lol: ...

... and on First And Last And Always as a reference to the rules of our culture which,
regularly, get the whole thing for everybody to certain (more or less reasonable) limits ...
IMMHO, always one of the main topics of Sisters' songs ...

And now I want a cookie, too ... ;D ...

Latest wacko theory: it's an Islamic crescent on it's side. Fits in with Black October/Black September, you see.

by stufarq
Doesn't seem wacko to me. A crescent's always the first thing I think of when I see it and the Black September/October link does seem very Eldritch.

Ditto.IF it's a crescent.That's the trouble-trying to ascertain what the symbol is-a crescent or circle within a circle or is it meant to be a crest type thing?Probably all of the above.

Yes, what about that "bar"? ;)

Let's suppose our moderator's appearance is the hint that a bell rang... who knows.... :eek: so, exercising over Pluto's/ Charon metaphor....
1st hypothesis: it's a snake, for snakes are Scorpio's symbol, as Pluto's is it's regent;
2nd hy...: it's not a line, it's a circle - it's Charon's orbit in perspective from space's point of view;
3rd: it's a river, for Charon is the ferryman of Acheron;
4th: Circles are to eternity as lines are to finity... (extra-shallow interpretation of Joseph Campbell);
5th: No eye deer!... Mr AE has his own record of depths....

To my (lost) mind, all these layers of meaning (except the last, of course!)add to the same idea: tranformation. Would it be a hint of what would follow that album?

It might as well be the 2 wheels of a Penny-Farthing, and as such be a coded message to Huss & co: "on yer bike!"

Im pretty sure I read in an old Sisters fanzine interview that the design was based on the badges that Leeds bus conductors wore in the early/mid 80's.

Presumably Eldritch noticed the logo when he was getting his ticket gripped on the way to a gig/club/heel bar.

APB please - confirmation required from a retired West Yorks bus driver.

Tickets please.
