Is it just me, or is anyone else really f**ked-off with them horns, now? The novelty died after the South Africa-Mexico game for me.

i dont mind the sound as much as i thought i would. after watching a couple of Confederations Cup matches last year i was dreading that sound during the world cup...
the biggest problem i find with them is that they completely drown out the "ooohs", "aaahs", cheers & other crowd noises, which removes a lot of the tension & atmosphere from a game (when watching on tv). as a result, i find myself feeling slightly detached from the games

Novelty wore off straight away, they absolutely kill any atmosphere or tension in the game & the only time they stop or change is after somebody actually scores..
Congrats to ITV btw, we were watching on HD and got a fu
cking Hyundai advert instead of the first goal.

We were on t'pitch at Yorkshire Cricket Club watching it on the scoreboard. Too many wannabe WAGs there with absolutely no interest in the game. Went to the loo at full time - here's a wannabe WAG conversation:

I prefer rugby. The England rugby team even win trophies and stuff sometimes! And they don't blubber like little girls when they lose. I save my flag-waving and patriotism for St George's though. Only good thing about the football is I get to see the flag everywhere!

World Cup organisers say they will not ban vuvuzelas from stadiums in South Africa, despite numerous complaints.
The sound of the plastic horn has been likened to the drone of a thousand bees or a herd of stampeding elephants.
Portugal winger Cristiano Ronaldo says the noise affects player concentration (awww, boo hoo

), while some fans watching on television claim they cannot hear the commentary.
But a World Cup spokesman insisted vuvuzelas are "ingrained in the history of South Africa" and will remain.
Rich Mkhondo also said vuvuzelas had worldwide appeal.
"Let us not make this a South Africa instrument alone," he said. "A vuvuzela is now an international instrument. People buy them and stuff them in their suitcase to go home.
"Only a minority are against vuvuzelas. You either love them or hate. We in South Africa love them."
Fifa president Sepp Blatter also weighed into the debate and believes vuvuzelas are part and parcel of football in South Africa.

You're not really paying attention, are you Barry.
If England win their group and Germany wins their's, the only time they will meet is in the final. If either team finishes second and the other first, then they meet in the first stage of the last 16-knockout. Phew!
Back on topic, I think Luke has tickets to see Algeria play someone on Friday night.
