See you all next saturday, hopefully... :-)
SinCity http://www.myspace.com/sincity_london is on at the ballroom on the 12th.

there's not much else on that i am aware of, but i am quite out of the loop these days as far as club nights are concerned.
most take place on a saturday these days though as the cardinal rule of "don't hold a goth night on saturdays as everyone goes to slimelight" no longet exists.

there are, of course, non goth related nights on all over the wide metropolis but i am again, not familiar with any specific ones.

as for saturday pubs, bear in mind the o2/carling/whatever islington academy is disgustingly expensive, so saving pennies in the angel rather than the york almost makes sense....
there's also, of course, sainsbury's next door for even cheaper drinks!

I have a ticket for this. Are usual suspects going to attend?. Happy to buy a beer for those going. Never seen them before. I read once that AE kicked them off the merciful releases label once they started selling more units than the sisters.

apparently doors are at 6 now :)
Simon D wrote:Just reminding those of you who are coming to this Purple Event that we are on stage very early.

DOORS 6pm
ULTERIOR 7.15pm
MARCH VIOLETS 8.30PM

So be there early to avoid the Crush... Tickets are still available, though on the door you will have to pay cash.

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT RECEIVED THEIR TICKETS, YOU SHOULD BRING PRINTOUTS OF ANY DOCUMENTS AND THE CARD YOU USED TO PAY TO THE BOXOFFICE.

And make sure you keep a ticket stub to use to get you into the Slimelight for free!

see y'all tomorrow.

we're due into london about 3pm, but i need to be in the venue from about 5/5.30 to get stuff sorted for the 6pm doors, so i may or may not be able to go for a beer first... can someone text me what pub you're going to be in beforehand? :)

Ulterior. March Violets. Black Moth. Gangwar. Psywdwr. Live Crayfish. Bobcats. One Missing Trouser Leg. A Headache.

A big hug to everyone I ran into, however briefly. What a night!

Some rather nice footage

I just found it, so take no credit. It really was a great gig, surprisingly enough they sounded 100% like The March Violets - which is all any fan could ask for.

that was f**king amazing :D 8) :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

didn't stick around the slimelight for long, tbh, as the first band on in the goth room were a bit pub-rock for me (black moth), and the other rooms were playing some awful noize

but the main event was superb :!: :von: :notworthy:
