It does, at least in Europe. It's just that they haven't put out a record in ages, so they are not exactly present in the media now. For the US (and I guess Canada too) as far as I know they never had a record company release their albums there, so they were imports, and naturally didn't get the recognition.

I think Under The Gun is the most beautiful video, and a very cruel song. The video doesn't really say anything, but it looks nice. :) Like No Time To Cry.

Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XozUZF3ml5w I haven't seen that source before. Has this one been circulating, and is it better than the official (Shot Rev2) in any way?

OKAY!

I will never BUT BOOTLEGS....and I will not buy them either!

But, I assume that any songs the band has provided on their site for download are 'free trade'.

If I'm wrong, please let me know.

The whole point of joining Heartland is to get guidance from long-term fans on this matter.

The band aren't going to officially endorse any downloading, trading, etc, but the unofficial understanding is that so long as things don't go too far across the line, they are prepared to turn a blind eye to some of what goes on. Unofficially, of course. ;)

the problem here is you actually listen to/watch the band! :innocent:
What else am I supposed to do with them?

...wait....Good Lord!....back up!!...

I nearly fell right in to that trap!

You are a tricky fellow Billy. I'm going to have to watch you
Just ask Senor Blast how tricky I can be

I liked this video very much. It is a good song.

I especially like the fact that the video director/producer is just allowing the artists to represent themselves rather than heaping all kinds of extraneous visuals all over them.

The woman singing is pretty...and (refreshingly) not ridiculous.

This video and this song seem to be cooperating. Whereas, the other videos I have mentioned (much to some people's chagrin) are working against the band (in my opinion).

Now...on to 1959.

mh wrote:You're not really supposed to over-analyze them. Sometimes it's nothing more than a bit of gonzo fun with some stylish visual elements tacked on, sometimes it's the world's best excuse for a trip to Jordan at the record company's expense, and sometimes it's a razor-sharp but still oh-so-very-tongue-in-cheek play on the watcher's emotions (try 1959 next).
1959

Visually interesting video that is making no attempt to eclipse the lyrics and the music.

My problem with the others was the lack of respect for the art. Seriously. I know that sounds precious...but I found some of the other videos (that I have mentioned previously in this thread) to be demeaning to the band.

Why do I get the feeling I should be afraid?

Terri Nunn from the band Berlin. I think AE has worked with the other girls in that group aswell, hence the "I have slept with all the girls in Berlin"-line in the unreleased song Slept.

So, you are informing me that Mr. Eldritch is not a gentleman.

To be honest, I am a bit surprised. It is one thing to boast in the locker room or write on the lavatory wall in a drunken state...but putting it in a song? :urff:

That's just plain creepy.

"Sleep" here might very well mean "worked". Or indeed sleep. For some people sleeping with other are work, on the other hand.

Who cares. It's just speculation because some are trying to interpret each and every word of every song... which is okay of course but perhaps shouldn't be confused with facts

I just listed to You Could Be The One.

I am nonplussed.

'Threatened species...they adore me.
Flower children...never bore me.'

And, somehow, miraculously...it goes down hill from there.

Really, is this some kind of joke?

The sun is creating a lot of glare on the screen...so I will have to watch them in a few hours (it is early afternoon here).

Anyone who dislikes YCBTO just doesn't understand the band. :D
