Bands you just know are going to be s**t by their name....

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Don't worry about it, you're not the only one. Murph was the only one of Bauhaus who matters anyway.
Am I the only one who thought the last Bauhaus album was almost a PM solo project (sound wise)?

Yes.

I've been less than impressed with the offshoots, Tones On Tail allowed, it seems it required all four of them to make something special. Look at the mess 'Burning from t'Inside' is. :|

and I still maintain 'Go Away White' is their best ellpee

I like Burning from the Inside!
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Definitely The Dandy Warhols. I can just imagine how clever they thought themselves when they came up with that little play on words. Although they did do a mildly funny song about hipster culture.
Gay Dad
Johnny Hates Jazz
The The (Oh har de har. Now go write more dull agit-prop songs)
Badly Drawn Boy
Eagles of Death Metal
Dido. I know it's her actual name but it just sounds ridiculous. Still, when your middle names are "Florian Cloud" perhaps you deserve pity rather than censure. Doesn't excuse her drippy songs though.
Cannibal Corpse. "Your dead child. I defile. NE-CRO-PED-OPHIIIIIIIIIIILEEEE!!!". Beloved of sex starved teenage boys across the globe. You can add "Impaled Nazarene", "Anaal Nakraath" , "Burzum"and "Gorgoroth" to the "music for virgins" list, too. You can just tell if a band has a "Ooh, we scary!!" name, they'll be pants.

I think you just don't get the point then ;)

All these bands, with the exception of Grafi Grishnakh, were really taking the p*ss, and virgin kids just fell for the trap.

Add Carcass to the list. Funniest metal-gig joke ever, once upon a time they refused to play a gig because they clearly stated on their rider that each and every member of the band was a vegetarian and the organiser ignored it. He didn't believe it and served them meat anyway. Of course, because they were rather loyal to their fanbase, they returned five minutes before they were due and did a stonking gig. Apparently they found a restaurant that did a veggie meal, not so common early nineties.

IZ (one wife, one daughter, not a virgin).
