He didn't forsee it as such, as actually have it happen. He was broke after the Vision Thing tour and naturally asked how the hell that happened when he'd just released an album. Also you're trying to say that Eldritch has foreseen this all and deliberately did not release a new album because of it. I think that's quite unlikely, considering the number of gigs they do and the number of actual merchandise that we can get.
I would also say one of the things about "cult" bands is they tend to have pretty devoted followings. In the case of Sisters fans it's damn near masochistic. They'd carry on going to the gigs if it consisted of nothing but dry ice and Eldritch playing Burt Bacarach tunes with a kazoo inserted between his buttocks. He can rely on a steady paycheque.
