Also you're trying to say that Eldritch has foreseen this all and deliberately did not release a new album because of it. I think that's quite unlikely, considering the number of gigs they do and the number of actual merchandise that we can get.

He didn't forsee it as such, as actually have it happen. He was broke after the Vision Thing tour and naturally asked how the hell that happened when he'd just released an album. I'm pretty sure the story is on the rather drab website somewhere, or was.

I would also say one of the things about "cult" bands is they tend to have pretty devoted followings. In the case of Sisters fans it's damn near masochistic. They'd carry on going to the gigs if it consisted of nothing but dry ice and Eldritch playing Burt Bacarach tunes with a kazoo inserted between his buttocks. He can rely on a steady paycheque.

I think Eldo, or rather his buttocks, on the kazoo would make a refreshing change to the somewhat formulaic live performance.

It is just that I get a bit miffed with what is basically an 80's greatest hits band trying to pass themselves off as still relevant when they have done absolutely chuff all to back up the claim.

If it wasn't for the fanatical following they would be on the same circuit as ABC and Kajagoogoo

Honestly, I can't see any effort or claim on their part to "pass themselves off as still relevant" ... ...
They have done loads of concerts, though ever since - based on new songs they've written, registered and performed live,
while their "fanatical" fanbase has constantly been weeping, screaming, complaining and even harassing them to have them play old (irrelevant) stuff ... ...
