according to the link on that site the source for this rumour is an issue of a german gay-magazine called "ADAM - Das schwule Lifestyle-Magazin", issue 150 / march 96)
never heared about that mag before, but hey, i'm not a member of the target group (is that the correct term for "zielgruppe" ? ? ? ?)

sorry, my fault - i'm just paranoid about the popups and all kind of tricky things coming through several websites.
that's why i avoid such sites which i don't want to remember my PC's ID.

didnt know any kind of personal signiture kind of thing was left for your pc to be identified with and spammed.
id thought cleaning out the temp files would sort it all out,and that it was to do with having traces left of where youd been visiting that caused the garbage.
although now i think about it,what you say does make a lot more sense.

Yup, theres many ways for them to "custom-spam" you. And one of the fuckers has got their hooks into my system and I can't for the life of me shake it off. It keeps kicking open new explorer windows off screen which then shut down fast - very suspicious.

Oh, and for all those "he can't be gay" sayers....

hmmm.i once got caught up in some odd german dial up porn thing when trying to leave a Cleavenger art site.
no way to exit it,and although i had no dial up,whatever it was blocked out any other action i tried to execute on pc.
dont know if anyones had the experience of the "bot" on msn either?
some odd teckie setting off a program which signed up for hundreds of false hotmail accounts,then spammed a whole lot of genuine msn users,me included.
shocking thig was tho,that it seemed to have agined access-without me opening any emails etc,to my address list or something like that as some of the accounts used to spam me were slight variations on most of my address book.
had the american presidents virus too.
