The last few times I saw them the sound (and band) were pretty good. To be fair even back in the day they, like any band could be hit and miss. And it really comes down to personal opinion. Wembley, which along with RAH could I suppose be seen maybe as the pinnacle of their career I wasn't that impressed with though I know others were. I hope they go on forever. Snow Patrol exists for ***** sake!Bartek wrote:I don't know why you gotta be so overdemanding.BillyBadBreaks wrote: If all you do is play live then maybe you should make sure your sound is fookin' excellent
Or possibly not. 15% of rabid fans think he should have jacked it in nearly 30 years ago and just under a third would rather the band no longer existed !Back in time wrote:Well, if he would care, Mr. E could be quite satisfied with the outcome of this poll
Exactly. Even if the concerts were hit and miss back in whichever day you consider their heyday, they at least released records as well, so there was always something of quality. A live band that mostly sounds crap live and does nothing else to justify its existence is just taking the p*ss.[/i]BillyBadBreaks wrote: If all you do is play live then maybe you should make sure your sound is fookin' excellent
So fortunately their sound was quite cool during all the Sisters XXX Tour ... ...stufarq wrote:Exactly. I absolutely agree!eastmidswhizzkid wrote:"Go on forever", obviously.
the sisters have provided the soundtrack to 3/4 of my life so far, and what they have meant to me for the last 30 years they will always mean to me, regardless of anything.
if you want to, you can easily pretend that the sisters called it a day 20 years ago- just dont go to the gigs.
but while eldritch still wants to play for us, he is more than welcome. i will always get excited at the prospect of seeing them live-and while there are people who feel that way about the band then who should begrudge us the pleasure?
Sisters Forever. Forever Sisters.

Frustration? I believe that Von never frustrated himself on position that he cares what happened to his band. As long as people are willing pay to see The Sisters of Mercy at stage, Von is happy.BillyBadBreaks wrote:I am glad people do still enjoy the band, I was just curious to see if others shared my frustration
As a West Brom fan I would have to say I am used to supporting a losing cause!eastmidswhizzkid wrote:if your favourite football team hasn't brought any silverware home for thirty years would you stop going to see them and demand that the club be dissolved? just a thought....
I think this topic needs a bit of spicing up!eastmidswhizzkid wrote:better a new album-less sisters/wba fan than a villa fan...or a manc....or a landaanar (all london teams but specifically the 'ammers who like the afore-mentioned villa play in the most repulsive colour combination imaginable. more footballers should wear black but there's only one bloke who ever seems to turn up to play dressed like that.)
wouldn't it be funny if this vaguely blasphemous thread has just been turned into a fitba-hate-thread.
Glad you like them, Dr JeffBillyBadBreaks wrote:radiojamaica just sent me some stonking bootlegs from fairly "recent" shows!
