More Pennies In Eldritch's Back Pocket

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Overheard this morning in my local caff:
"Two teas for the European Union party, table 4 - Finland, rooibos, Germany, no milk."
"I won't go down in history, but I probably will go down on your sister."

no royalties but a Sisters question on fiteen-to-one (hi-brow afternoon quiz show for non-english) the other day: "what was the name of the alternative rock band who's album Floodland reached such-and-such in the UK album charts in 1987? " followed by the info that they featured a drum-machine by the name of Doktor Avalanche. :von:
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Used to love watching 15-to-1 back in the day when William G Stewart hosted it - he had the requisite gravitas to elevate it beyond a simple quiz show to something that aspired to Mastermind status.

absolutely. it took me a while to adjust to the slightly slower-paced (and therefore longer) sandy toksvig version, but really the questions are still of a reasonable calibre. i could watch it and the chase all day.
