THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

You made the point: holidays, 1 hour drive ... - perfect situation.

Watch that space, as the saying goes...
I vowed I'd travel the next time they played anywhere as I'm not holding my breath for them to return to the U.S. (when was this last "proper tour"...?) perhaps I'll book now to commit to an adventure before they announce more accessible venues.

Coming from California. Anyone want to compete for the distance award for this one?

I'm totally amazed that people still make a huge effort go to watch them. The 'afterhours' show at a festival is just Andrew's ego tripping. In his mind he is the last band on stage and therefore headlining. I think that's sad.

But, if anyone important is watching from afar, we really enjoyed Köln and Weisbaden. Maybe orbit around Frankfurt? It's not always about coming to watch you. It's about the people who talk shite on here on a daily basis, and meeting them. No offence. Danke. :)

and as it's about those people, on behalf of those in the uk for whom the travel costs/ logistics of seeing the band abroad are preclusive, please can we have a handful of uk -by which i specifically mean England- non-festival gigs? it's been a few years and you may love us less but the same cannot be said of us with regard to yourselves.

We could of course just book a room in a pub and have a night of our own? :)

Damn! I meant to send that in a PM.
I was thinking...roses scattered across a Queen sized bed, room service and a bottle of Fizz. The moment has gone now.

So, yeah let's go down the path of a gathering for all instead. ;D

There's going to come a time when we're still posting here, I'm sure, but the topic will be, "What was the last Sisters show you saw?"

The answer I DON'T want to give is, "I considered going to that Belgium gig but decided that I couldn't be bothered to jet off to Paris, maybe visit Amsterdam, and take in a festival that includes the Sisters in the middle."

(And, of course, I'm hoping that if I chat here enough, I'll get directions to that pub and massive bed you're alluding to.)

I'd hazard a guess that the massive bed is, ahem, above The Chemic.

One for the old locals there, I'll get me coat, sorry

I do apologise if the mere mention of a pub in Woodhouse cancelled the Euro tour and several NME gigs in and around Leeds. ;o)

Mentioning the Chemic, do you know that the place is in trouble, under threat of closure?

And I still wonder, if anybody in the world has seen the announcement posters for such NME gigs in the streets of European cities like Cologne.
I wish I had fiddled it off the wall ...
