As I appear to be the ONLY Welsh "Heartlander"* I must admit that I felt completely underwhelmed by St. Davids Day on March 1st. St. David is the patron saint of Wales - just so you know.
It is unfortunate that March 1st has nothing to do with drinking bloody "Guinness" - I much prefer the better tasting S. A. Brains "Dark Mild" which is produced in Cardiff (Wales).
http://www.sabrain.com for more info.
At this very moment I am watching BBC Wales Today and they a report that St. Patrick may have been born in Wales in a small village in the Dulias Valley.
So St. Bloody (I dont work for Guinness - Honest) Patrick may NOT even be Irish!!!!!!

but they can't just leave it at that can they? oh no, they have to ram their leprechaun-faced, guiness-soiled, clover-leafed "celebrations" down everyone else's throat as well. which just encourages those **** who suddenly turn irish once a year (or when the irish football team qualifies for a major tournament). and now the sodding card shops have got in on the act so we'll never be bloody rid of it....
When there is a celebration, CELEBRATE!
Do you mope the same when it's your birthday (a day closer to me own death), Christmas (ah that friggin pagan rite all taken over by the christians), New Year (just another day, nothing special), Valentine's Day (I love the missus every day of the year, so no flowers on this commercial hogwash), Halloween (bloody American hype) and Rosj Hasjana (don't bother for a comment)??
Life is boring enuff already, so don't feel pissed when people celebrate. I don't give a horse's ass whether it's a native thing or something that came out of another country/culture.
I like St. Pat's, I like Irelund, I like Guinness...
PARTY ON
And a nice day to you too, you FL***** PR******** !!!
IZ (flippin' Belgian Dooot!!!).

I am half Welsh & half Irish, but I feel more Welsh. Maybe because that side of the family are a lot nicer.
