Just back from seeing him today. He's feeling much better and was wondering how much Heartland feedback he'd be getting. Unfortunately I forgot to take him a print out of this thread as I intended but I'll be seeing him again at the weekend so I will then. The infection is clearing up but not as quickly as they hoped so they're keeping him in for a bit longer to be on the safe side. He should be in till at least next week, so if anyone wants to send him a card or anything, the address is:
J M Gallagher :innocent: , Ward 11, The Southern General Hospital, 1345 Govan Road, Glasgow G51 4TF. Why I didn't think of posting the address in the first place I don't know.

Thanks Andrew. I was beginning to wonder whether waiting for news of JMG was gonna be running close parallels to waiting for news of a Sisters album. :von: :innocent:

Oh lordy, he's in the Sufferin' General!

When I was there (in March, when I passed out at college for absolutely no reason and found myself being hit with a hammer by a recent med school graduate with no bedside manner whatsoever  ), I seem to recall nasty peeling paint, a horrible smell of boak covered up with disinfectant and it being far too hot. :urff:

I don't envy you Jimbo!

It seems OK actually, although on my first visit, there was a smell of raw sewage just as I was going into the building. I'm sure it had absolutely nothing to do with James being at the lavatory at the time. At least I hope it didn't for the sake of everyone else there! I wasn't impressed with the menu - pureed overcooked veg and chips - and for "special diets" they had "fortified chocolate mousse", whatever that is. :?

Pop into the off-licence before you visit him and I'm sure James will be able to "fortify" his food himself! :innocent:

BLAST IN PAROLE SHOCK!

Hi all! :D
I'm not quite back in flesh but I have been allowed home for a few hours this hot Saturday afternoon.
I'm really knocked out by all your good wishes, probably more than you know (does a Gwyneth Paltroe, sob, weep, etc)
Seems I caught a very nasty infection in the lower abdominal area and was operated on, just in time. I got up, showered and dressed yesterday for the first time in 10 days.
It feels really strange being home. I feel like a visitor.
The nurses and docs are all top people and I am being well looked after.
They will review the situation on Monday, with a view to a (fingers crossed) release next week.

I'm still not Firing on all six (name the Welsh rockers who released an album called that) but your posts have been the best medicine so far.

thank you, one and all
James xxx

PS. Yes, the food is s**t!

Good to see you almost back James. I would steer clear of that curry house in future, if I were you.

:D It brought a smile to my face to see that you were back and about (albeit briefly). I hope that you will be back to full strength soon.

Lone Star, James.

" ...this somewhat eclectic melodic rock band with a strong progressive slant mixing the sounds of Mott The Hoople, Bad Company, Nantucket(remember them?!) and Foreigner." :notworthy:

See, someone is nearly as old as you. :innocent:

You take care my friend.
