You're only twenty! You shouldn't be listening to anything made before 1992 anyway. When I were a lad, no self respecting DJ would have played anything pre 1976, with the exception of Bowie, Iggy and VU. Not even as a joke. 60s TV show themes such as Thunderbirds, Stingray etc were used for the latter.

Very possibly. But I do find it disconcerting that anyone in their twenties should still be stuck on something that was 'in vogue' during their primary school years. I mean, it's like Eldritch trying to be John Lennon. Oh, hang on...

In a way, I can understand where Francis is coming from, but then he was lucky enough to live through the dawning of the ages of great music. I think the same - I wouldn't be here otherwise - so I spend an ordinate amount of time and money on enjoying music made, yes, long before I was able to contemplate it.
Not that I'm writing off modern music; I just don't feel there's very much in the way of the leviathans of yesterday.
This may have something to do with me becoming a music journalist...

The only good thing I've seen in the new Millennium is Devendra Banhart, and one song by Bloc Party, that song being Banquet.
I think music and fashion generally died in the 90s.

I feel the same,just a few albums from 93 onwards have bought,but my dad used to say the same,is it musics changed and moved on and i'v'e/we've not?

Yup,there is good bands around,we went to see Eightys Matchbox B Line Disaster a we while ago,and they were great,but cant seem to get past the stuff I listned to 'till about 10 years ago,my fault Iknow,but I will give "the editors"a listen{as soon as i get argus off the "music centre"!
