If you look closely at the JW pic, isn't that Francis taking a pic of a sad Sisters fan ..?boudicca wrote: @Indrek - No pics of you sitting in "Von's Seat"...

Why John, you're absolutely right!Johnny M wrote:If you look closely at the JW pic, isn't that Francis taking a pic of a sad Sisters fan ..?boudicca wrote: @Indrek - No pics of you sitting in "Von's Seat"...
We passed the Rising Sun pub on the way to Kirkstall Abbey. Claire and Indrek were too busy looking at his photos of London to listen to my commentary though. I think they'd got a bit fed up with my "I used to live there ... and there ... and there ..." by then.Johnny M wrote:Oh Francis, please tell me you took them down to 7 Village Place and went to the end of the road. Pointed out the Leeds borough boundaries and 'The Sun' pub across the green so we can all understand the lyric from "War On Drugs."
"Head on back to Kirkstall, in the shadow of the sun"
Roughly meaning, I'm going back to the pub.

I only really took them there to check out the car park over the road. You must have seen a few green rooms in your time, Chairman.Chairman Bux wrote:Kirkstall Abbey is a beautiful place. did you all talk that way, back then?Chairman Bux wrote:To paraphrase: Claire like the Stooges. We all liked the Stooges.
Give or take a consonant or two, yes.James Blast wrote:did you all talk that way, back then?Chairman Bux wrote:To paraphrase: Claire like the Stooges. We all liked the Stooges.

Beautiful - yes. Unsullied by the march of time - not when I saw it in February. I had trouble getting photos that didn't show the somewhat extensive scaffolding. It was very nice scaffolding mind you, and there was enough of the ruins untouched to show off the beauty of the place.Chairman Bux wrote:Kirkstall Abbey is a beautiful place. Thanks! I couldn't see the photo's either. That was pretty annoying. Now I can see them and I like what I see. Nicely taken!boudicca wrote:Ah... now thanks to the wonders of cut and paste, I can see a skinny black-clad Not-Goth fella with shades... :von: :innocent:
(BTW - the photos... I couldn't see them at first, but when I copied and pasted the first two I could see them when I looked again at this thread... bloody technology - go figure :von: :urff: .)
