Certainly not. They don't have a female vocalist or write songs about vampires :innocent:

To quote Mr. Murphy: "We're as gothic as a brick".

I suggest it would have to be a rather ornately decorated brick, with a chronic whizz habit and an attitude problem.

And what was used to build those huge ornate gothic cathedrals? Bricks.

Ladies and gentleman of the jury, I rest my case ;D

Certainly not!

"white on white translucent black capes
back on the back
bela lugosi's dead
the bats have left the bell tower
the victims have been bled
red velvet lines the black box
bela lugosi's dead
undead undead undead
the virginal brides file past his tomb
strewn with time's dead flowers
bereft in deathly bloom
alone in a darkened room
the count
bela lugosi's dead
undead undead undead"

That reads like pure indie post-punk pop to me as opposed to any dreadful goth nonsense. Sort of. :urff:

Says the Bearsden lady who spends all her time accessorising black with umm ... black and then cries off the photos because 'the rain has made my hair go funny'. Whereas we all know your image simply wouldn't have appeared in the shot. :innocent:

I'll take my Van Helsing kit to this gig. Just in case. :von:

BLOODY OI! :P

I'm so confident in my un-gothness that I don't have to worry about wearing black, crimping my hair, and having a colour of skin that glows under ultraviolet light. Nowt to disprove, y'see...

...at least that's how I convince myself I'm getting away with it.

The Van Helsing facts:

a) No photos were taken of you in daylight at Black Oktober.
b) At 5am on Planet Dave, as the sun was rising, you wanted to go to bed.
c) Bearsden has been annexed by Romania.
d) 'Things' are attracted to your residence and 'scurry' about in your back garden at night.

It's been a while since I've been to a Bauhaus gig but I know the routine before I leave home. Wallet, check. Front-door key, check. Gig ticket, check. Wooden stake, check. Hammer, check.

Ehem...so Bauhaus. The question is: do I try to get the folks to let me see them next weekend or not even waste the energy?

Is it worth it?
