Doktor Avalanche Can wrote:I was very impressed by The Warlocks and I definitely plan on picking up one of their CDs. They appeared to be very well received by the Toronto crowd!
Glad to hear that Doktor Avalanche Can. Rise and Fall is an awesome, not for the faint of heart collection of droning/psychedelic jams, dark/beautiful songs (some coming in at a heroic 16+ minutes). and they manage to scale to incredible heights. Dunno. Listen for yourself. If you like any of their influences, you will find some gems here. I happened to find an entire chest full!
Hey, ever listened to the Brian Jonestown Massacre? Some history there w/The Warlocks. sorry. way off topic. . . busy flipping through old Sisters vinyl snatched in'86.
Detroit like a freight train comin . . .
Cheers.

If someone have pictures of the Montreal show, pleeeeeeease share them with us!
I've made a 3 minutes video montage where we see a lot of articial smoke and a few seconds Eldritch, but the sound is ok. At least, it shows the ambiance. Online soon, in a 35 Mo 640x480 DivX…

Well, I have some pictures.
A couple are worth posting, so I will. I also have about 20mins of video with sound. But it is for the strong of heart only.
I just wrote up my Toronto review, will do Montreal eventually, it was great fun.

i also taped the toronto(maple, ont) and the darien lake,ny shows in july '91 and also the toronto march '91 show that's another version than the one that's out there. at that show my finger hit the pause button and missed the first 3 songs, but because of that i got all of jolene and the last that was 1969 bet you didn't know that!!!!

All you heard is absolutely true. Indeed, the Sisters can still rock out!!!
Montreal was a fine gig. Was in front of Chris and on the side of the speakers so the sound was
good without beeing too loud. (for me anyway)
The smoke however.....is a different story.
Does anyone have a audio recording of the show? Don't need to be top quality... Would love to have it!!!!!

@ Cultchild - you could do a lot worse than venture into the weeding section if you wish to beef up your bootleg back catalogue.

Well, as promised, here is a 3 minutes movie of the beginning of the show. It's a big 33 Mo DivX 720x480. "When You Don't See Me" could have been the title of this movie.
Right-clic here.
I hope to get in return very good pictures of the Montreal show.
