I'll be there. I rather like Norwich and it's pubs - The Murderers (a.k.a. The Gardeners Arms) in particular. :)

Maybe, I've pretty much managed to persuade/bully one of the guys I work with to swap shifts with me, but I can't afford to buy tickets for a couple of weeks

@ Libby - I think Mr & Mrs Snowey have cast their hats into the ring previously.

Hey Simon, The Murderers is a looonnnggg way from UEA, unfortunately. I think the uni bar is the best and cheapest bet, so i've been told. Although it's been a good 5 years since I was last their. My wife's graduation ball, with quite possibly one of the worst bands ever playing, TOPLOADER!!

Matt..

Hello folks, long time lurker - first post. 8)

I've just booked two tickets for me & the missus, she's not a Sisters fan but hopefully the show will convert her but I doubt it. She's more into cheesy chart pop. :x

Where abouts do you lot live, are there many in my neck of the woods? I'm in Bradwell a few miles south of Gt Yarmouth.

I'm from Sheringham, so not too far for me to go!

I'm still thinking about where to park, it's a shame I don't still work at City College.

I think I'll have to park at Castle Mall and get a taxi to the UEA. Do you have a rough idea what time the gig will finish as I don't want to go back to the Mall and find my poor Citroen Picasso locked up behind bars. ;D

I haven't been to the UEA for about 8 years now but I seem to remember that gigs usually end by 11 - there must be car parks at the UEA you could use though?

I'll have to do a dummy run one day as I've only ever driven past the UEA so have no idea what facilities they've got. :|

I wonder if East 17 will be playing there just to keep the missus happy.

Got my tickets today. 8)

Numbers 0387 & 0388 so at least we know around 400 tickets have been sold.

Due to the small problem of not getting off my a**e and getting tickets to London before they sold out, looks like Ill try and head to this one instead.

I will be going to this one + 2 others.

One is a student at the UEA, so I will try & get some details on local drinking holes!

I used to live in Norwich for 20 years, so have a little local knowledge of the place. The city centre backstreets have the best pubs, but the UEA is a way out, albeit that Norwich is a pretty small City!

If you are gonna park & drink in the city, you will not be walking to the gig.

I will do some digging & get some info on the public transport situation for the venue.

Can you have a word with your mate please and ask if there's ample parking at the UEA or would it be better for me to park elsewhere and walk the rest. Cheers. 8)

Details fo the bus timetable from the City Centre to the UEA can be found via the following link...

http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/eastang ... eid=434890

The Bus No.25 is the fastest & most direct, it runs every 30mins & all through the night. It also drops off at the train station.

I will post some details about parking & drinking places soon.

Okay some more details on the venue.

A map of the campus can be found here: http://www.uea.ac.uk/campus_2004.pdf (The LCR is C12).

Directions to the UEA can be found here: http://www1.uea.ac.uk/cm/home/about/get ... ing+to+UEA

PARKING

Basically, there is loads of parking on campus. The main car park (P1 on the campus map) stays open until 2am & will cost you £1.00 to park.

They do not allow overnight parking, so you need to have your car out of there by 2am latest!

If you want to park in the City Centre, then the following links will get you details on car parks & charges;

City Car Park Planner: http://www.norwich.gov.uk/intranet_docs ... _Oct05.pdf

City Car Park Charges: http://www.norwich.gov.uk/intranet_docs ... 241105.pdf

See my previous post on bus times from City Centre/Train Station to UEA.

DRINKING

The UEA has the following places to drink;

(1) The Union Pub - just had £2 million refit & open 11am until Midnight on Saturday.
(2) The Hive/LCR - has a bar & is where the gig will be.

Just got my ticket. My boss has graciously let me have the day off (without pay) so I can travel to the area of my birth!
