The first time I heard the Sisters was on the day before 'This Corrosion' was released, it was a Sunday night, I was doing my school homework while listening to Janice Long (I think it was her) on Radio One.
All of a sudden this amazing sound comes from my speakers and blows me away, I sat there, Open mouthed.
'Who the F*ck is this?' I thought, the song ends,
"That was This Corosion by The Sisters Of Mercy, it's out tomorrow, They're back after 2 years with new line up, blah, blah, blah"
So this was where The Mi**ion came from,
I thought the mish were good, but THIS WAS WAY BETTER.
The next day after school I bought the 7" and played it to death.
Luckily, my big sister started to go out with a huge Sisters fan about a month after, I soon had most of their stuff on tape.

Maybe
Motz was the first to mention it but I seriously think he is not the only one who did notice it...

thanx to Biggy and Debaser i don't feel quite so bad
first got the Sisters back in 82 (Alice 7") after much pestering by my drummer mate Ronnie (he still has his original Damage Done)...
proceeded to their first Scottish date over in Glasgow on April fools day 1983...
i feel better for that now...it's a bit like confession

About 15 years ago (when I was 14) I started to go through my brothers CD collection. Actually Vision Thing was the first to go into heavy rotation on my (first) CD player.
It grew from there, but without the internet, and being in Montreal, I was unaware of anything actually happening with the band. I didn't realise that SGWBM was a new release. I knew they had toured Vision Thing just before I got into them, but with no news pretty much figured they were defunct.
In 1994 I wandered into the computer lab a college that had internet access and found Ian's site.
By 1997 I was on dominion. A group of us (including my future wife) drove 14hrs down to Philly for the show, then 14hrs back.
I remember Bax posting that letter to dominion announcing they were out of their contract, and that new releases were all but released. Somewhere in there I got the head and star tattoo too.
We'll be hitting shows four and five next month. Still looking forward to the new album

I think I first heard them on the radio. On a radioshow they introduced the EP by some strange english band, who had no drummer and called him soandso.. (
) That was in 83, I was twelve, I hardly remember it and I am not sure if it actually were the Sisters.. No sparks flew.. Jeez, I was a kid then!
1985, german TV`s Top Of The Pops-substrate was called Formel Eins, I saw them on TV. I remember the hats, the looks, but not what they played. Few sparks felt..
August 2nd 1988 I got a FALAA copy on tape. August 3rd, back from a visit at my granduncle I took my dog for a late night walk. Warm summer night, a nearly full moon, the lights of Bonn gleaming beautifully in the distance, a walkman playing Black Planet. And sparks everywhere!
Ever after ever more more more so.

Lewd means sexually vulgar, or something similar.
Whatever George Michael got arrested for was apparently lewd (though being rather young at the time I had little idea why one would be pulled up for kicking someone's feet
)

"Lewd" is the best word to describe Sid James' laugh in a Carry On film. If that's any help.
