Yeah, well there's only so many times you can write "got wasted/drunk with Bez-Shaun Ryder/(insert name of 80's Pop Star)" before it gets boring. Besides his lawyer/book publisher had to ask him to edit most of the stories out otherwise he'd be sued left, right and centre.

If you enjoyed the Grant Gee film like I did, then you'll enjoy the new book.

The reviews seem to state that it's the best book so far. I'm only 60 pages in and it's been an enjoyable read. 8)

Could have done with a tad tighter editing IMO.

As always: tons of facts, policy analysis and personal impressions, plus some anecdotes. (I still need to read "The great game" by P. Hopkirk as Kaplan wrote about this region as new place where great game going to happen.)

I absolutely love that one! I had part 2 for Christmas (bought it for myself :p ) and that one is even weirder.
I hope I will not have to wait another 2 years for part 3

I bought this for Gaz when it first came out, he LOVED it. I don't ever need to read it as he gave me a summary after every chapter!

New testament. Now i'm sure that i'm not big fan of s-f novels (except maybe Dick and Gibson). Plus i had no idea that this piece of book had/has THAT much impact on European/Western culture. But it's not that easy to read that without reading Old Testament.
