Watched 1st episode of Man from the high castle, isn't bad, but that I thought that maybe I should read the book first.
And docu-short-serie The Last Narco on prime video.

Highly enjoyable Colombian movie about child soldiers. Engrossing and terrifying.

Staggeringly good.
I watched this with Hungarian subtitles & felt so lost during the scenes at the deaf dinner & when he started deaf school even though I could hear all the sounds but there was no spoken dialogue.
Then, suddenly, after he'd actually learned to sign, the subtitles kicked in & the penny dropped.
That was pretty much how Ruben felt.
Utterly brilliant

i downloaded that movie 2 weeks ago. Watched about 30-40 minutes of it. Stopped it and deleted it from hard drive.
I found it so wrong in so many levels, but that's only an opinion. :notworthy: :bat:

I've seen a couple of short features about it and thought it looked pretty good.

Am interested in what @iesus didn't like about it though.

OK, then i have to tell. This movie is pure undercover negative messaging to the audience about music/musicians etc. I will not be surprised if the people that gave the money to create it is american christian organizations that in 80's sued metal bands and musicians. I am just at an age that i cannot see Tea-Party productions about music. :notworthy: :bat:

I didn't see it as any slight on music at all...just a heartfelt insight into what it's like to be a deaf person in a hearing world.
If you didn't finish the movie it's hard for you to give a balanced view IMO.
It was as much about his struggle with his demons not related to his hearing as anything.

Yeap my view on the movie is not balanced. But this was only the 3rd movie in my life that i stopped watching in thousands of movies. And believe me that includes hundreds of movies that an average viewer hits the stop button. That movie is not only for a deaf person, his demons and agony and struggle, and you need only 30 minutes to realise it. At least i realised that there is more layers and messaging on the background.

There's no arguing with that.
What were the other 2 films you stopped watching?

#2 was Disaster Movie (2008)
thank god i didn't pay tickets for it (i have free pass to cinema). That was 10-15 minutes in the theatre and then go and get other set of tickets for "Burn After Reading" which saved the night...
#1 was actually a prank that lasted less than a couple of minutes.
Don't know the title of the movie but i remember included a false labeled VHS tape in 90's, a porn thematic and a poor sheep   :? and awfull traumatic experience and a bad prank from the evil mind that thought to do this

I've only ever walked out of one film at the cinema: "Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd" and I was only persuaded to go at all against my better judgement.

Although, when Kerry and I went to see "Crash" (the 1996 Cronenberg movie, not any of the other films of the same name), by the end of the movie everyone else had walked out.

I still think it's very unfair to compare Sound Of Metal to Disaster Movie.

I liked Crash. :P

I'm trying to recall if I've ever walked out of a film. I seem to remember taking the kids to see some godawful animated thing - something to do with emoji's and they got bored. Thankfully.

"Face" is the only film I've walked out on

Went with friends because a local band (Puressence) had a song on the soundtrack.

Once we heard the song most of us left - it was so bad.

Watched Crash by Cronembergtoo in theatre till the end.
As far as i remember there were not many people that walked out the theatre.
I didn't compare them, just had the same reaction which as you see is very very rare
"Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd" is a movie that i had the instinct to avoid so far   :bat:

Edit- I remember Face watched it all. For a strange unknown reason to me that local band (Puressence) is a big name here in Greece and can gather lots of people on their own ;D :bat:

Haha! yeah, Puressence were massive in Manchester and Greece. Nowhere else :D

I love them. Seen them dozens of times (including in NYC, when a holiday randomly coincided with them touring the US). Wish they'd have been bigger outside of here and Greece tbh :(

If you like Puressence and i know that you do, when we return to a more normal environment and concerts and tours start again. I suggest to keep an eye open if they play here in Athens come to see them. Their concerts here are non compareable to other of their concerts in other countries. First they have big crowd, second people know their songs and sings with them and the atmosphere is like they are Superband ;D  :bat:

I think they played here in Greece after 2013 at a summer festival (at least i was there and watched half of their set). Can't remember which other bands played that day with them but it was in Terravibe few kms north of Athens
This is interesting cause i usually remember details of such things :?
And don't be surprised if they play in Manchester and Greece and nowhere else few reunification gigs without mentioning it out  :innocent:

Mr. Robot s1, e1 & 2.
Nicely done. I like tech stuff, even if if underestand slight more than regulations Joe.

Other, T2: judgement day, remastered, or whatever they call on movie industry, on prime video, just to feel how it was to be very, very young, and see whether fx got old or now - not, imo.
