Don, Jon and Androo went to see them last Friday here and had the same experience. I suspected it would be like that so didn't bother to get a ticket. I could see they were at the start of a downward spiral at the Preston Gig back on the 'Warrior...' Anniversary Tour 4 years ago. 2 guys we had spoken to before the Gig were quite bitter about their experience of seeing them just the year before in Manchester. At the end of the night there were a few loud and angry hecklers but even less people clapping and cheeringeastmidswhizzkid wrote:just got back from seeing Hawkwind. cant say i'm too keen on the new album but it didnt need to be played in its entirety and a couple of the tracks were really good. the band didnt play well IMO, more noticeably on the older material they played at the end. still it was nice to hear Assault and Battery and The Golden Void. the crowd were dreadful -they didnt even get excited about the classics (which they didnt seem to recognise)- and i swear i was the only person singing along to anything. fucking hippies.
Had a great time last summer when they headlined the Yellowstock festival overhere. They just kept on playing, did't seem to be able to stopBig Si wrote:Don, Jon and Androo went to see them last Friday here and had the same experience. the band were ok, a bit rusty and not as good a set as at xmas but the atmosphere was fucking awesome. must be nearly 30 years since i saw them in somewhere as intimate.Mav787 wrote:How were NMA?eastmidswhizzkid wrote:i've just bought tickets to see NMA on consecutive nights at lincoln and holmfirth 5th/6th may.
You missed a great footie match. It was Klopptastic
Holmfirth was really good. Sold out and a very lively audience. Picturedrome is one of my favourite venues.eastmidswhizzkid wrote:the band were ok, a bit rusty and not as good a set as at xmas but the atmosphere was fucking awesome. must be nearly 30 years since i saw them in somewhere as intimate.Mav787 wrote:How were NMA?eastmidswhizzkid wrote:i've just bought tickets to see NMA on consecutive nights at lincoln and holmfirth 5th/6th may.
