"While we're waiting for the next one to arrive!"

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I don't know what it is with 'Afterhours', but you feel some threatening and discomforting thing and at the same time it makes you dream....

Fine job you did there James!

Why give up now, we have a bunch of material. Whats left to do, put together artwork and make them available at cdnow or something so we can purchase it as a full artwork included CD or...? Just seems we're done with the hardest parts...

hello everybody!
long time! :)

today or maybe tomorrow i will get my new mic (Studio Projects B1), my new preamp (SP VTB-1) and my new soundcard (ESI Juli@) in the mail. After installing and playing around learning how to at least get some kind of strange sound out of the hardware I will try to record some vocals on the song Slept. The last month or so I've re-recorded all the instruments from scratch and 3 other Eldritch-songs (Dr Jeep, Valentine and Giving ground) just to have something to sing to. I don't know when but I'll write something here if I happen to record something that I'll dare to show you :)

I've listened to several versions of Slept and read at least 3 versions of the lyrics. The version I'll sing will be this:

Oh shake me down again. (x3)

I can wake up in this zoo.
I've been used and abused
I've been chastened I've been bruised,
I can take what I've been through.
I've been naked on the news,
I've been debased and disabused,
Just meet me downtown when you're through

Turn me over, Turn me in,
I have slept with all the girls in Berlin.

Girls on smoke and girls on weed,
Girls on coke and girls on speed,
Girls who choke and girls who smile,
Girls who swallow in denial,
Girls in crisis of the hips
Girls with eyes as white as Egypt,
Girls in cars and girls on strips,
Girls in bars and girls on strips,
Girls on journeys, girls on trips,
Girls on gurneys, girls on drips,
And a girl too far with pale blue lips so shake me down again.
Girls like you have poison tips
Girls like you like pistol whips
And girls who knew the sailor's creed
With a third degree in jealousy

Turn me over, Turn me in,
I have slept with all the girls in Berlin.

I would be very happy if anyone of you have any corrections of the lyrics. I mean "crisis in the hips?!?!!???" wtf...

Slept was a nightmare when it comes to trying to hear what the lyrics were, but I could show you my ideas of what it could be. "downtown when you're through" sounds very good btw, might change that in my version.

Slept

I could wake up in this zoo, man
I’ve been used and abused, I’ve been chastened I’ve been bruised
I could take what I’ve been through, then

Just leave me downtown in your hideout

Turn me over
Turn me in
I have slept with all the girls in Berlin

Girls in smoke and girls on weed
Girls on coke and girls on speed
Girls who choke and girls that smile
Girls that swallow in denial
Girls with crisis up ahead
Never touch the silver token
Girls in bars and girls on steps
Girls with miles of girls on strips
Girls are dreamers, girls are trips
Girls are girls, girls are drips
And a girl too far with pale blue lips so shake me down again
Girls like you with poison tips
Girls like you like crystal whips
Girls in your own cellar tree
With a burning aching jealousy

Turn me over
Turn me in
I have slept with all the girls in Berlin"

   Isn't it about time the song got properly officially released with officially properly printed lyrics?
That way or the other, the mere "Girls on journeys, girls on trips, Girls on gurneys, girls on drips" bit makes it excellent poetry. Off-topic in this thread, I know... :|

here's a wild and wacky idea:

just post your music, some people have had the sac to do it, what's your problem?

Yes!
yesterday i got my new mic and stuff so just for fun i recorded Dr Jeep. I put the mic next to my computer and this room is just wallpapers so it will get better next time, i hope :) .
like it or not, check this out:

http://tobiasforsner.com/download_count ... y_-_DrJeep

Some people says the vocals has some digitalerror, some crazy sound like a female voice behind the lead vocals but i've tested the song on our 2 computers here at home and it sounds ok

ok, it's not Slept but now i've got the hardware so i hope it won't be long now :)
