Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Shouldn't the question be
Where is Wally?
Where is Wally?

Yesterday me and my wife planned to see gig of Mitch & Mitch, Polish band, at Nowe Horyzonty Film Festival, instead of that we saw and listened Yves Tumor and only 30 minutes of Mitch & Mitch (midnight, Sunday, ye know). That was something, we felt attacked sonic, visual and phisical (however this one by music). Total invasion. I got feeling that he wanted to rise aggression and terror. Unease music for unease times. My wife didn't like it at all. I felt that in terms of music it's nothing new, but on some way i bought concept of it.
Eve' before we went to see Kedi, Turkish doc movie about cats living in Istanbul. Fine piece. That one we enjoyed both.

I feel cheeted, i just checked other songs by Yves Tumor, e.g. Yves Tumor - The Feeling When You Walk Away , gig didn't sound like this at all. Noise, shriek, drones, wall of sound, rattle, distorted vocals, not some "chill-out" music.

Mark Lanegan in DC in the middle of next week, and then the great Ray Wylie Hubbard two days later. Pretty excited!

Izzy HaveMercy: How was it? Do tell. Always curious about what those kinds of gigs and crowds are like in Europe.

It was f**king AWESOME!UniversalRinging wrote:Izzy HaveMercy: How was it? Do tell. Always curious about what those kinds of gigs and crowds are like in Europe.
Het Bos is a nice smallish venue (150-200 heads) but with a very good acoustic and decet light rig.
MARGINAL were fun, I know the guys for a couple of years now, singer Johan was with us on the road in the 90s with his own band SUHRIM, now he delivers with some cool crust/Grind/death.
IMPLORE was very tight, that drummer is a beast!
And VALLENFYRE.... man, my neck hurts like hell, I'm half deaf, it was FANTASTIC!
I had the impression tho that me and a smallish lady were the only two freaking out, the rest of the crowd was just standing there and nodding to the music.
Weekdays eh
