A kickass playlist would be like this:
FALAA
1959
Ribbons
Lucretia
Train
Dominion MR
Vision Thing
Finland Red, Egypt White
Adrenochrome
Lights
Fix
Marian
Amph logic
Jolene
Floorshow
Comfortably Numb-SKOS
Gimme Shelter
Body Electric
Temple of love
Afterhours
Knocking on heaven's door
and our brains would still be hanging upside down Principal's ceiling!
and everyone would be dead after that!

Strong doubts about dtsom's "everyone enjoyed the show"
In Thessaloniki the average 30-40 of age crowd
was really disappointed.
I spoke about Athens gig,I wasn´t in Thessaloniki....
and what I saw was that the people enjoyed whit the show, and what everyone that I spoke told me that got fun.....
obviously the people got hotter whit the old clasic but they heard really carfully the unrealised ones and they applaused a lot, even i saw more people buying t-shirts when the gig ended that when they arrived to the venue, the only but was that awfull venue(and i can say that the sisters did theyr best whit it(volumen lower, but in the place that i was, i herad it clear).
in that case you were lucky because in Thessaloniki the sisters sounded great due to the venue has a great accoustic

I've been to both shows and I haven't seen any dissapointed faces at either. And both shows have been great. There's nothing more to say.

I was in both Thessaloniki's [Nea Moudania] and Athens gigs....
Last Review to correct some things, that i read and are not exactly like this...
Fact 1 - There were in both gigs unhappy people after the shows....and i am not talking for myself, as i have to say that i am too fanatic to be unhappy after a SOM concert...
Athen's Dissapointment was about the oragnizer's, the place that was arranged the concert, the small length of the playlist that performed, all small length variations of great SOM song's that were performed [Lucretia and Temple for example were small edits cut the songs in half], bad sound-accoustic, luck of original SOM merchandise and other smaller complaints...
Thessaloniki's Dissapointment was about the small length of the playlist that performed, all small length variations of great SOM song's that were performed, luck of original SOM merchandise and other smaller complaints...
I blame DiDi Music and BigStar promotions for all of them because i know some facts from first hand.... Like the agreement of the band and that organizer.... They 've paid them small fee and bought a small length playlist to be performed.... To make it worst, they 've tried to gain more profit by choosing a place unworthy for concert with small fee to rent it for the event... they 've tried to make more profit by putting their own merchandise in it and not the groups original merchandise
even in the bar they have put relatives, like cousins, uncles e.t.c.....
And the big machinary that they 've put on, -rent it from their own company they have made for such occassions ofcourse- was totaly scrap and destroyed from the usage.....
Fact 2 - They didn't play body electric.... both dtsom and i did write down only few hour after the concerts what songs were played, maybe not in the exact order but correctly
and as i show one other friend after many time did write and the exact order
and only difference between the 2 concerts was a beautiful version of "I was wrong" that was excellent and gave the song a brand new accoustic [Thessaloniki-Nea Moudania] instead of an unnervous "Something fast" which was played in Athens....

Blimey, got a bit nasty in here
I for one loved Greece far more than the gig, and I'll definitely be back whether or not my fave band (who I never review really, I know full well I'm not objective about the Sissies) ever go back.
Top Country
See you soon for more Octopus and Ouzo.

Apart from the beautiful surprise of Sister Ray, I'm very happy to hear they're rehearsing Come Together. That's one of my favourite old new songs. Now, will they play it in Spain? Of course not.

I dont think anyone would complain about the length of the show
if the playlist included more SOM classics, songs that established the Sisters
as the Goth Leaders worldwide.
As for didi-big star and what iesus said about buying the short version of the show, THEY SUCK BIG TIME and they should organise only Greek folk music events, f**king idiots!
and for geographical info:
Principal is in Thessaloniki's region, Nea Moudania is about 50-60km away.

When amph_logic mention where Nea moudania is in fact i went and checked the map....
and yes he is right
i also agree that Didi-big star are "f**king idiots! Mad ".....
but plz don't say the word "G***" in front of Eldritch....
he is going slightly mad when he hears that word.... lol

was there an opening act?
and what was the set list?
did von say anything out of the norm at the show?
then put a review
1. no
2. don't remember was drunk but they played burn.
3. don't think so.
4. toilets in sporting arena were rubbish but the bar was cheap/free by the end of the night - they were doing beer at 2 for a euro and giving away the sandwiches....
mind you the nerdy amongst you might gloat in the fact that the band had to use the same toilets.
5. toilets in principal theater were lovely and the bar served the most potent drinks known to man - hence i recall very little of what occured next - which i expect was the gig itself....
*hic*
6. the euro-t-shirts had yet to be printed and that's beyond kenny's control.
now, as some of us don't spend all day/night on the net (esp when abroad) you may find the reviews of those who travelled any distance to get to the gigs might be rarer than those of locals.
unless you're robF and stayed with one!

To those who claim to like the "original lineup" and the WAKE video better than now, it may help to remember that The Sisters of Mercy played the RAH in 1985 (for the WAKE dvd) with no original members save Eldritch and Dr. Avalanche - the same 2 original members still with the band.

? ? ?
Its not the members that bother me, its the sound and the feeling.
Wake was the ultimate Sisters appearance.
Im sick and tired explainigg I wish they played more old stuff.
Its the past that built the Sisters saga!
But of course, no matter how displeased i was, if they announced they
play again tomorrow, i would be there again!
ps the Cure about 2 years ago in Athens based their gig in faith, 17secs
and pornography. Newbies wondered "what was all that s**t" cause they
only knew the la-la-la cure songs. Smith, my opinion, respected
his past and audience.

Well then I guess you'd better stay at home next time and watch the WAKE video over and over again.
The Sissies have moved on and the "new" songs have been around for years now on the internet and elsewhere so you could have known what to expect. Accept it or don't.
No offence meant....just an opinion.

Plus most of the old-school fans I've met say the Albert Hall was a dodgy gig anyway.
Wow, we bloody love complaining. I'm almost convinced there was someone standing at the bar at that York gig in 81 saying: 'I only liked them when Andrew was on drums"

It's also tough as The Sisters have played Greece a total of three times, and twice on this tour, so there are all kinds of expectations. You can expect certain complaints to come out of places they've never or rarely played. Same thing in the States, I'm sure......first time people had a chance to see them, so it's either awesome, or they'll never go again.
You have people who saw them 20-odd years ago vs people who collect recent bootlegs. And Von has to balance it out. And God forbid he's written any news songs....I don't get it, apparently it's less work to re-work older songs with two new guitarists and bring out old tunes again than it is to....write a whole new song.
But then everyone would complain that he doesn't play Alice of FALAA.
Hell, I'd be happy if he played Sigue Sigue Sputnik covers for an hour, man.

This gossip is getting far too annoying!
Obviously as an old Sisters fan Im pleased with the 1st period much than the 2nd-3rd ones and YES I expected some respect from Mr E to that era.
I was wrong!
Im gonna live with it, erasing the 2006 fiasko from my (old skool) mind!
