Belly of an Architect (sorry James it's the only Greenaway movie I can't watch)

Anything Lynch: That art school nonsense is getting old

The Matrix series: Or how not to film a HK flick

No fight here, I just enjoyed that one, even though it didn't have a Nyman soundtrack.

After HP Lovecraft I suppose ? Is there any one good movie made after Lovecraft ? Apart from Reanimator I suppose, which is considered a good one by some (not including me). But Reanimator has nothing to do with Cthulhu and the great ancients, which is the most difficult thing to translate into actual pictures. Without being ridiculous, that is. :?

OK, one of the best adaptations:

The Real Ghostbusters - The Collect Call of Cathulhu (sic).

Has anybody metioned the godawful Kill Bill - 1 & 2.
& I wholeheartedly agree about Rocky Horror - Ultra pish
And I also agree with The Blast - anything with Adam Sandler or Jack Black would make me kill my TV.

Jess, as you know full well, I don't get it. No-one has yet managed to successfully explain what the point of it all is. The original is a masterpiece, so why bother. It's like me releasing a recording of my version of Crash & Burn (okay, bit tooo far there, but you get the point). Sorry Jess. I'd say remakes generally, but The Hills Have Eyes bucks the trend.
And The Thing.
And A Fistful of Dollars.
And The Magnificent Seven.

Hold on a mo - remakes are GREAT!!!!
and not to forget invasion of the body snatchers! or the fly!

TBH I have a problem with Audrey Tautou. Find her really annoying. This might not help. :innocent:

canon docre wrote:Inspired by Badlanders topic, I ask around which "must-see" cult movies you never fully got.

For me:

Blues Brothers :urff: (must be rather a boys thing)

Stalker (should be a masterpiece by Tarkowski, but for me just the most boring movie I've ever seen in the cinema...)

Godfather: and this is very embarrassing, isn't it? I mean everybody must like the Godfather otherwise something is considered very wrong with you. (I heard that the second part is better, but I never took the effort....)

The Godfather rules. Although Goodfellas is better though.
