DarkAngel, you and I have crossed paths previously and I did not want it to happen again, but I feel I have to speak here.

Your comments to Stephen are absolutely beyond the pale. I read and re-read his first post on this topic, the one which lead you to call him a "misogynistic fool", and there is nothing which warranted or deserved your taking any kind of offence, personal or otherwise. He simply expressed an opinion, which by the standards of these threads was fairly mild and innocuous. Nothing was directed at you, not even in a (pardon the pun) "veiled" way.
And even if you did find what he said to be somehow offensive to you, to react in that way is just not on.

I know Steven well, and I can categorically state that he's one of the least misogynistic men I know. I have never heard him make a comment or behave in a way which was sexist - even jokingly, which is more than can be said for most men. In addition, he has been a genuine and considerate friend to me through some hellish times - and other HLanders can vouch for the fact that he is a gentle, kind and intelligent person.

Your comments to me were one thing. But your post to Steven was nothing short of obscene, and listening to you even attempt to defend such an attack is quite unbelievable.

Please stop this kind of antagonistic behaviour, DarkAngel. This community means more than you could imagine to a lot of us.

When I went to school, it was forbidden to wear caps in the classroom. It was considered rude to wear it. It was in the school regulations and we had to live the law to feel the wrath.

Nowadays, things would be much easier. When a teacher makes a remark about me wearing my baseball cap in the classroom, I would just say he's a discriminating sonnovabeatch, desecrating the Church of St Nike in the process, and I would be allowed to appeal to higher court and even drag the European Parliament into the discussion.

Sound ridiculous? Read that article again.

Anyway, kinda dubious, stating that it "was clear this was an act of discrimination", according to the woman, while the niqab is in itself a symbol of discrimination.

Try integration by just following some simple rules. The West DOES TRY. Be welcome, but please do the same and start trying too. End of rant.

Know what? Why not make a new section between 'general chat' and 'sisters chat' called 'political, social and economical discussions'? yes i am a f*cking teacher trying to do the best for my kids. don't EVER dispute that with me, f*ckwit, because you have NO idea what it's like teaching kids to read and write, how to understand texts, how to impart any kind of enthusiasm, sense of fun... I can control my class with the expression on my face or the lift of an eyebrow. not raise my voice.
